How do the Drakh play?

Hello All. I allready have several fleets, Dilgar, EA early and centauri. I was thinking my next force could be Drakh. I am concerned they they have no fighters and am wondering if any Drakh vets have any advice to a potential newbie Drakh. Probably raid level fleet for starters.

Yeah, should be "How do you play Drakh?" :P

OK, seriously... I get the impression that the Raiders were some very heavy fighters from the show. I don't really know gamewise.

lack of fighters isnt a major problem as most fighters cannot get through the GEG unless they manage a crit.
they are fairly fragile in the same sort of damages as minbari but then they also have the same sort of firepower as the minbari with front arc precise DD beams.
also when bringing a carrier the carrier is effectively free due to it carrying 4 skirmish ships inside.

And if you get a mother ship than whoa that's one spicy meat-a-ball...

As the others ssaid that's kinda what the geg is for, that helps a lot against fighters, and they seem to be fairly well set against a lot of other fleets with the capacity to, beam nuke things into submission.

The GEG is very powerful against smaller weapons, less so against big beams.

The Drakh can be swarms of raiders, ofter carried in, or big beam ships. A mix of both seems to work well.

We have played several games agaisnt the Drakh with Brakiri, Dilgar, Centauri, and Minbari and they haven't won yet.

What type of tatics is everyone else using or fleet type for a 5 point raid battle?

Thanks

I have also not beaten any of those races you mention, but conversely have beaten ISA, EA, Narn, vree, and despite loosing to Abbai, did so much damage their campaign was effectively over.

The difficulty is knowing your enemy. All Drakh ships are good at one thing or another. Raiders are excelent at maneuvreability and having dodge is great, but they only have 8" range, meaning a death sentence against NOva's, octirions, primus, Most Narn, but then the light raider is an excelent ship against whitestars. destroyers and light cruisrs are great with a bit of range, although the destroyer suffers from forward only firepower. IN a 5 point raid, I myself ususally go for 3 light cruisers and 4 raiders covering both bases of range, and maneuvreability.
set up your cruisrs together to act as your anvil, and your raiders speed and maneuvreability as the hammer and get the enemy in between. Of course this has little to no chance of working against some fleets, but against everyone you mentioned, you should be ok. Possibly drop a raider for a scout when facing the boneheads

Do NOT use the cruiser - I used it twice and twice lost it
Do NOT use Strike cruiser - two destroyers have more power and will survive longer
DO USE raiders
