High Guard is Here!

One final Planetoid/Buffered Planetoid question... are the Hull Points calculated from the Total tonnage of the Planetoid or the Usable tonnage? I can rationalize it either way, but I'd rather go with the official ruling.

Thanks!

Bay weapons

there is no lage bay 'ion' cannon

yet there are barbette, small bay and medium bay 'ion' cannons.

Some weapons don't scale up, others do not scale down - this is intentional.

I have no official answer for you, but it is my understanding that total tonnage is the hull size and is used for all calculations for e.g. hull points and drive sizes. They are supposed to have lots of hull points, that is their reason. And nearly free armour.

Smal craft errata:

Light Fighter: Armour ten times too big, M-Drive should be 0,6 dT.
Launch: M-Drive should be 0,2 dT, Power is TL8, should be noted, cost should be about MCr 2,5.
Ship's Boat: M-Drive is 2G, not 5G. Cost wrong, should be about MCr 6.
Slow Boat: PP cost wrong, should be MCr 2, unless it's TL8 then Power 20 (enough).
Modular Cutter: TL8 PP, should be noted.
Heavy Fighter: Hull Cost wrong, hence armour cost wrong. Computer unknown. Firmpoints cost MCr 0,1 each. PP is TL12. Armoured Bulkhead wrong for PP. Cost does not include software. Hull points already noted.
Troop Transport: PP is 75 power, TL12, not noted. Hull cost wrong, hence armour cost wrong. Sensors are Advanced, not Improved. Firmpoints cost MCr 0,1 each.
Passenger Shuttle: Acceleration Benches costs MCr 0,01 / dT, cost way off. 60 dT benches seats 240, not noted.

At least that is what I saw in a quick look.

Excellent. That's good enough for me.

How do PDF updates work? If I buy the PDF, do I get rights to updated versions?

You do indeed - in fact, you should get an email telling you whenever a new update is available!

Total tonnage.
Usable tonnage is for drives, staterooms, weapons, bridge and so on. But where it says "total tons" - it's the big number you want.

I have found the emails to be a bit hit-and-miss, but once you go to your Account on DriveThruRPG, it will show you which files have been updated, so it is easier to download them.

I usually go up every month or so and scan through to see if there are any new updates to the ones I really use.

Guys! Quick! Sorry to interrupt, but the updated version just hit DriveThruRPG!

Belt Mining has been added. Check out page 73.

Go and get it downloaded now!

And to follow up with my comment about the emails being hit or miss - I have NOT received an email about this update to a PDF that I bought 2 days ago.

DriveThruRPG needs to fix that or stop saying you get emails.

We have noticed that it can take a tad to receive emails, presumably so some server somewhere does not die (we've mailed about 4,500 people today alone). Keep an eye out, should get to you.

Excellent addition for the belt mining. We no longer have to open up Beltstrike to get the information. Everything in one place now. Thank you.

I got the email and just downloaded it. Quickly skimming through....

P.106 - Passenger Shuttle has no Armour line.
P.128 - Asteroid Ship's armour line does not mention the "free" armour from being a planetoid.
P.150 - Destroyer Escort - Armour line does not tell us the armour value.
P.153 - Destroyer Escort - Still has no armour line.
P.184 - Planetoid Monitor - I still think the total armour should be reflected on the armour line..

It's a minor thing but some nested bookmarks would be great. For instance, the Jayne's guide to spacecraft could do with a bookmark for each ship.

If the PDFs weren't secured I would create so many nested bookmarks - for Jayne's Guide, for the optional systems... the main benefit of PDF is quick lookup... and without the lookups it's actually slower than flipping through a book.

So Thirded. If that's even a word. lol.
