It has been long-awaited, but the next great expansion to the new Traveller is here - High Guard is ready for you!

You can grab your own copy right now here: http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/190671/High-Guard?affiliate_id=7242

This book is a major expansion to the Traveller roleplaying game, enabling you to design, build and fly spacecraft of all types found throughout the galaxy. You will find rules to modify existing ships, design high performance space superiority flyers, and construct the largest capital ships to travel the space lanes.

High Guard also presents new approaches to handle spacecraft operations, from engaging in vicious boarding actions to spacecraft security, from employing a range of warheads in missiles to accessing technologies seen in science fiction settings beyond the Third Imperium. Your warp drives await.

With more options and more powerful weapons, High Guard returns to space combat and provides a rules framework to use in epic space battles, from spiralling dogfights involving just a handful of lightweight fighters to the clash of heavily armed battleships across a front stretching through an entire star system.

So, shall we put typos/ bugs here?

At 1st glance:
1) Destroyer Escort, p142 says it has bonded super dense armor, but doesn't list how many points.
2) Destroyer Escort, p.145 doesn't have any armor listed. This must be an oversight...

At 1st glance:
1) Destroyer Escort, p142 says it has bonded super dense armor, but doesn't list how many points.
2) Destroyer Escort, p.145 doesn't have any armor listed. This must be an oversight...

3) Colonial Cruiser, p151, no armor listed...

The ship listings are a real mush-mash. Some have "Armor 0" listed, some have no armor line at all. I think all ships should have an "Armor X" line.
Some ships have "reinforced hull" on a separate line, some on the same line as hull configuration. Consistency would be good here...

While I don't have the time to list it here atm, the ship tables have the occasional omit (armor score, computer score...) Perhaps it's just a formatting case, which can be resolved easily.

I imagine Andrew will be along here shortly (Ship Stats Man!), but I can say that not all ships have armour...

Thank you guys for getting this out. I've just skimmed through and I'm impressed with the overall quality, layout and art. I really appreciate the inclusion of alternate technologies (e.g., reaction drives) to allow for non-OTU settings. It was a nostalgic trip through all the old designs - especially the Leviathan whose decks I poured over for hours in my youth.

Quick question re Azhanti. Weren't the decks aligned pependicular to her main direction of thrust? I was away from Traveller for many years, so maybe I missed a new version or interpretation of the original design.

Page 5 - ship types in left block are in bold type, ship types in right hand block are not in bold type.

What on earth happened to the AHL deckplans???

p26, Particle Barbette
The text refers to particle turrets - but these don't seem to be a thing?

p26, Missile Barbette
Do missile barbette firmpoint mounts have the same rate of fire (i.e.: 8 ammo, launch 5 missiles per turn)?

p172, Ghalalk
The Ghalalk has a spinal mount of uncertain type?

Indeed. But there are many that say "Armour 0". When no armour line is listed, especially on a warship, at all it looks like an omission. The stats should be explicit here - state that it is "armour 0", don't just leave the line off...

In fleet combat, Special Weapons - there is Shockwave missiles, which forces the target to remove sand from it's Defence score. However, the Defence score calculations don't include sandcaster rules.

edit:

The cost of life support in the Accommodation section is per ton. Isn't that too much compared to the regular stateroom which is 1000 Cr (and 4 tons)?

Should be 1 point.

That's correct.

A lot of the ships included are based on the Classic Traveller S9 Fighting Ships. The Fer-de-lance in there has no armour.

Design decision based on discussion with various people involved in Traveller. The ship was never really meant to be a tail sitter the deck plans corrected this.

Well, this is the new version.

Particle Beam Turrets are covered in the High Technology chapter (pages 67/68).

The only changes for a firmpoint are those mentioned, nothing else changes.[/quote]

Particle.

Again correct, as the S9 Fighting Ships version it is based on also lacks armour.

Ok... Seems odd that a scout or a far trader has more armour than a cruiser... I guess those military budget cuts were worse than I thought.

The SDB on p.116 has an armour line but it's blank. What value should it have?
The asteroid ship on p.120 shows 4 points of crystaliron. Is that in addition to the +2 from being a planetoid or total? The entry is unclear.
The planetoid monitor on P.176 mentioned the buffered planetoid armour on the hull line, and 2 points of crystal iron on the armour line. It would be much more clear if the buffered planetoid portion and the crystaliron portion was on the same line. So we don't have to look in several places for the information in the heat of battle...
