[Gypsy Knights Games] Career Track 1: Medic

Hmmm ... there once was a truly brilliant solo adventure in the Ares ma-
gazine, about the biological survey mission of the BSM Pandora, and the
crew of this ship would certainly have welcomed an experienced big ga-
me handler ...

DFW, nats and phavoc, you seem to have forgotten your "JK"s and <sarcasm> notes. At least I hope you're not so unimaginative and chauvinistic.

Whoa there boy! If you want to try to tar and feather me for making a joke, please at least quote ALL of what I said. Or maybe you missed the

Personally I thought it was pretty obvious what I said was tongue in cheek.

But hey, it's a free interwebz, you go and see it however you wish girl!

(Yes, once again I made a funny. Sorry, no <brackets> or italics for you!)

It does not matter whether it is obvious or not, you need to fill out Form
F-UN 001 to apply for the permission to write something funny and have
to add Permit F-UN 002a to any funny and Permit F-UN 002b to any ton-
gue in cheek post, otherwise your post will have to be treated as absolu-
tely and irrevocably serious (for which you would require another form
and permit, of course). 8)

I was glad to see this product. Besides being lazy I like having new chargen documents, they provide me with new material to use when I am 'playing with' Traveller and not actually playing. Additionally, I was just in a pbp game and picked up a Doctor PC when the player had to drop out. I ususally play Scouts or Belter characters so this was a fun change. I wish this was available when I first joined; I could have used the extra information while I was fleshing-out the character.

Glad we could help. Thanks!

I've been having great fun with Spica's Career Books, especially the 'behind-the-scenes' careers like Cosmonaut, Space Patrol and Port Authority. While they could be created with Core and some minor tweaks, the expanded and specific events and bennies tables are really nice and save a lot of work. And the fact that these careers 'exist' adds color to a campaign where before there may not have been as much.

Thanks, Fovean!

Who on earth would want to play a medic in Traveller? No guns, healing people all the time, keeping at the back every fight, making nothing but wise cracks like "Im a doctor not a magician". No fear. What happend to interesting careers like colonists, bounty hunters, assassins, smugglers/blockade runners, moisture farmers, alien vets/zoologists, salvage collectors, starship rescue technicians, tomb raiders, detectives, etc etc. Most of these have not seen any or much development in Traveller to date. If you want anything done you have to do it yourself....
Colonists and Bounty Hunters are both in Spica's Career Books 1 and 2, so is Farmer (as a specialty of Colonist), although not specifically a moisture farmer...
