Glorantha Boardgames

The King

Cosmic Mongoose
Chaosium and then Avalon Hill did publish 2 great Boardgames called Red Moon White Bearn (then Dragon Pass by Avalon Hill) and Nomads Gods.

As a whole it was a series of 4 games that Greg Stafford wanted to produce, but we only saw 2 of them.

Now that Mongoose has the licensing right for Glorantha, I wish they would release the 3rd (which IIRC was called Master of luck and Death) and 4th of this great series.

Anyone with me?

Oh yes, simply republish "Dragon Pass" and Nomad Gods... but with the same rule set, and please make sure that both boards fit with each other, so that you can play it as ONE big boardgame.
Then add "Shadows Dance" (northern Dragon Pass and Prax) expansion, and the third full game "Masters of Luck and Death" (Kethaela).

I would buy it!

Give us the money for license and printing costs and we will consider it. :-)

It shouldn´t be SO MUCH of a problem to re-publish these two boardgames:

They HAVE BEEN republished... in french language by Oriflam.

I think it could be done again. Reuse the french maps, and counter design!

There is still a gloranthan boardgame newsgroup around. I am sure some of the more active people ogf that list would LOVE to help in upgrading the two games for the 21st century (which would include to make them even more compartible with each other).

The biggest problem is that a boardgame is not a book!
It is the board, counters, a rulebook, and a box.
That is to much cost for a fan publisher. :-(

Mongoose could do that!

What about a boardgame: EWF vs. God Learners ?

I can't give you the license and can't give you the money either (though I don't know how much it would cost).

I had the AH Dragon Pass, but as they didn't follow up with Nomad Gods, I had to buy both French made games (the counters are great but I prefered the mounted map).

It wasn't a matter of republishing the games though, but rather of publishing those that weren't already.

I'd definitely be interested in buying these, and on working on a Second Age boardgame as well. :) This would be truly excellent - I still play Dragon Pass a great deal. Sadly i have never owned a copy of Nomad Gods, its almost impossible to find. Mongoose republishing them would be excellent news,

Thanks for the hint I'll check it out. My French is passable. :) I'd definitely like to see new Gloranthan board gaming material as well.

Once you have the game it shouldn't be difficult to find the rules in English, either of the Glorantha forum, on Boardgamegeek.com, or even there.

I also can give you the errata links: http://www.glorantha.com/library/board/nomadgods-erratta.html#rulesbook-rules

And there you have one mint and sealed game: http://cgi.ebay.fr/RUNEQUEST-LES-DIEUX-NOMADES_W0QQitemZ120195204205QQihZ002QQcategoryZ89529QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Bump!

Mongoose already produce war- and boardgames. So they should have enough experience to publish these Gloranthan games.
