The only Minbari ships fired on with pulse weapons were those during the E-M war where the EA ships couldn't hit because of stealth...

All the others attacked were attacked with beams.

Nick
G'Quans , Primus , i would even be so bold that most other races ship all seem to blow up with pulse type weaponary.
In the battle scenes you actually see Sharlins getting hit but not much damage results.

Not true. I recall a shadow ship cutting a sharlin apart with its beam in one episode. It didn't seem to have much trouble doing it either.

One other question will the Crew-damage change?

In a lot of games i seen Whitestars what where allmost undamaged but no crew left onboard. like a Present for the other to pick up later.

yet conversely, if you win the battle, you get to take home your repaired ships, and just pay for crew, the rest of us get to pay for repairs, or brand new ships as the case mey be :-)

hope not I think they are nicely balanced at present - except when i am fighting them - then are they are completely broken!

It wasn't just the Prometheus, was it? Firing point blank range, with the inference being that no stealth system was active.

the stealth was definitely active, remember they could only get a silhouette and were surprised?
Plus the Minbari ECCM was interfering with the jump engines

Was it ECCM or just their normal sensors? Couldn't this be justification for giving the Minbari a jump point disruptor attack?

in the Earth-Minbari war book it was explained that EA jump engines weren't adequately shielded, which was corrected after the war

It's all well and good Matt saying 'we've considered this' and 'some playtesters are right and some are wrong'. But have you considered it enough, and are you quite sure you know which ones are right and which ones are wrong?

Are you asking if I am God? :)

We know you aren't..... JMS is God.

NAh, Matt's just the one true voice...the MetaTron

I don't think that phrase means what you think it means. . .

Ok here a thought for Boresight and Stealth. Because you can ram a Stealthed Ship why do i need to make a stealth check if i want to use my Boresight weapon? That makes no sense to me. Because i aim with the hole ship like i woud attempt to ram them.

because the stealth affects the targetting system of your weapon, it has no effect on you driving straight at the Minbari ship though

What targeting system you point youre ship and then fire thats more the nav system then the targeting system.

you are assuming boresights only fire in a straight line in the horizontal plane. What if the Minbari are above or below?

I'm sure the XO comments on the disruption coming from the Minbari scanners/sensors.

Stealth was active, so there is some "cannon" for pulse weapons being able to hit and damage even a stealthed ship, just not very much.

Re: Sharlins and Shadows, a Sharlin gets neatly sliced in "Shadow Dancing" and I doubt it went home again! I also recollect another flying into several pieces when pierced by a Shadow beam, though which episode I can't remember.

That is one thing I would like to get around a bit. If I can ram with a CQ check I think I should be able to shoot too. Both require me to know where the enemy is. For all the talk of 'battles really happen at extreme distances' we see on these boards sometimes, most of the ones in the show don't and ramming certainly doesn't. And we see a good bit of ramming in the show at least from EA. Explosions are damaging at four inches...seems a good range to be able to 'see' things at and have a manual shot lookin' out the window.

(Not expecting anything to come of that...just a rant on the I want to feel like I'm at battle x from the show type rant...and many of those were stare into the eye or your opponent through the window type fights)

If i read the games rule right thats what a boresight ist straight line no up or down or left and right.

If i coud ram some thing i shoub be able to shoot an Straight-line Weapon also.
