Wow, great paint jobs! My favourite are the Abbai. Great colors and perfect combination of FA and B5W scales. Cool 8) - I think I need Abbai now...

Why thank you. Actually without your pointers I wouldn't have been able to do them. Still need to learn a lot about photography, though .

Hope you're still adding more ships to your fleets. Can't wait to see more of them ;)

Those ships are beautiful M1ndr1d3rs.

These are my latest.

The three ships with the convoy guardian are thar'not'ak plasma crusiers, from AOG. I generally use them with the Urik'hal stats. And the Urik'hals minies use the warbird stats. They look far too lean to be lumbering. The little FA sunhawks get to be sunhawks.

Also I put together a LONAW civilian fleet
LONAWCivilianShips.jpg

The dark grey ships are FA human ore haulers. The saucers are FA Vree Vymish traders. The Abbai ships are FA Skiatha scouts, which I thought would fit the part of civy ships well. And the ones in Brakiri colours are actually FA narn arcismus transports. But I think they look brakiri enough to fit the part. Who knows, they might have been bought from the narns.

On the table all these ships use the regular corporate freighter rules. I know It's not as exciting as each race having their own stats, but it makes things a bit simpler during play. We play convoy duty with twice the number of civilian ships that the scenario states. It actually doesn't unbalance the scenario at all, and makes for a much more target rich bit of space. [/img]

Nice work, especially the pak'ma'ra ships!

Stats for the Vymish and Arcismus were given on the forum shortly before Mongoose ceded the B5 licence, but they were never playtested and not official. Using stock freighter data with miniatures for other races' freighters makes more sense, especially in any sort of formal game.

Personally I reckon the Narn bought the Arcismus from the Brakiri. With the Narn short of transports after their war of liberation, some Brakiri corporation probably saw an opportunity. Having got the Narn to pay the development costs, the Brakiri probably then built some more for themselves.

Nice work on the Paks Bani, and thanks for showing how big a Tharnotak really is.. :D
Also, nice idea proxying them for Urikhals (never liked the official model). I think I'll buy a couple of FA ones for that.

Nice stuff MInd and Banachi...!

now if i could only get my done...i have like 4 different games on the modeling table and nothing gets done :)

On a side note, I created my own Brivoki.

I have a few pics and Im having it painted now. Hopefully it comes out sweet.

Heres the rest-my cam skills need improving. Dont mind the Zombie Prom photos at the end :)

Here are some newer pictures of my mothballed fleet. Still so much work to be done :( Least winter is approaching, and provided Cataclysm isn't too distracting, I might have to spend some long dark days painting.

Clickable for much higher resolution

Hi guys,
it's been awhile.

These were the last pics before I took the long break. Hope to start again soon (and hopefully I still know how to hold a brush)
:P

Nice work on the Tinashis. The upper one seems to be a variant as its dorsal fin appears to be the same as a ventral fin, longer and with guns instead of the sensor nacelle.

Centauri ships always look good and yours are no exception.

Thanks.
I like to think of that one as the Santavi, y'know.. The bigger guns kinda say triple damage to me..
The real reason was because it had a severely miscast dorsal fin, so I cut the whole stump away and pinned a spare Sharlin fin in its place. ;)

I'd be lying if I said I came up with the technique myself. I pretty much followed court jesters painting guide. If you give me your email address, I could send it over.

I have been working on some Vree miniatures. I am unsure if I want them on a hex base or round base. I am leaning on buying some round bases.

Without the hex bases.

Some close up shots of the mini's. They are not glued to the hex bases just sitting on top of them as I am undecided about hex bases or round bases.

Here are some with ship critical tokens I made with Open Office. If I can figure out how to make them into a file and put them in the new player files section I will. They take a long time to cut out and glue together.

You start of with a token on the number 1 side then at the end phase you flip it over to the number 2 side. The numbers are at the top right corner of the tokens. That way if its on the number 1 side you know that you can't repair the ship that turn. Anyways here is the picture. Hope you all like the ships I painted so far. I had mixed feelings. At first I did not like the way they turned out, but there starting to grow on me to where I like them alot.

Nice work on the painting, especially the stripes on the Xorrs!

If you glue the Xorrs on at that angle, or if you use the Mongoose ball and socket mount to make them posable, the models may be unstable. Mine are if I put them into an angled pose, and they're on Mongoose small round bases, which appear a little larger than those hex bases. The other difference is that those hex bases and stems are opaque black whereas the Mongoose stands are transparent. I prefer transparent, some people prefer black. You're the one who has to look at them most so it's your choice as to which one looks best to you!

What happens with the critical counters when a ship has taken several crits - do you stack the counters or spread them out? If they're stacked then you can't see them all, but if they're spread then they might get mixed up with the counters belonging to a nearby ship. Also, how much longer does it take to move a few ships with a couple of crits each?

As to the questions about the counters I will let you know soon. I am not sure how many crits a ship usually takes. I don't want to turn the game into moving a bunch of tokens around so I am going to have to play test with them. I know there not pretty to look at, but thats the best I can do just by self teaching myself how to use open office.

If you stack them then you can tell what kind of crit you have by looking at the color of the crits. I made all the different types different colors. I made the ones where you take random traits, or random fire arcs where you can write on them with a wet erase marker if you laminate them.

I am still getting prepaired to play. I have also been very busy with other things right now. Once I get a game down and play I know we will play pretty often.

I will probally be playing in about 3 weeks. I want to get ships painted up, making gaming aids for the game, and I will be going on vacation leaving this Friday and I won't be back until the 4th of July.

Here are the tokens in different colors. It took a while to cut and glue them together.

I may think of something better then the tokens, but for now I am going to take a crack at the game with them. If anything I will use them to put on the the ship cards to keep the board less cluttered.

I have made special action tokens along with the critical tokens. I sent the files to Greg, but they need to be revised a little. He advised me to make one where there is a target of the Concentrate all firepower special action. Also, he advised me to make some for scout ships. I am going to make them color coded so its easy to see which scout ship did the action to an opponents ship. I have allready started to work on them right now.

Busy, Busy lol. I hope you all like the pictures. If I can figure out how to transfer stuff to pdf form and put them on the site then I will do that so others can use them in the new player forums. Or I will just put the open office files there so anyone can modify them how they like them. I just need to figure out how to do it.

Edited for correction.
