Take the opportunity to clean up the rule book. I'd be okay with some tweaks to the factions, but keep things compatible with what is already released.

I picked number twosy. Though I still think putting the current rulebook up for free download would help draw people in for the future.

Oh yes. And some 'houserules' could become official in my opinion. And take away or improve useless rules like those for smoke (we always playerd that infantry CANNOT look through smoke. No matter what gear they had.)
Clearifications, on the emplacements and how many units fit into them and all this stuff.

If it aint broke....don't fix it! Give me my game game back with miniatures painted or unpainted!

Number 2 baby! This game already rocks! :D

We love you Mongoose!!!

Like I said in the other thread, a cheap PDF of the rules would be nice, but I'd like to see a hardback with expanded/revised rules, a rewritten and expanded background and stats, damnit!

Yes, some basic stats cards to copy and then cut out would be a nice add on to the source book.

I can live with the factions as they are - but can see how individual country lists & ally rules could be a benefit

overall I'm fairly happy with the rulebook as it is

I'd buy a new one if:

it has more expanded rules & more optional rules - better treatment of emplacements - better treatment of firing on structures - better treatment/explanation of firing into/out of cover & especially structures

speaking up for more new pre-painted minis on every post

Again I ask what you guys would think about a book that follows the example what Forgeworld did for 40k:

A book that is based on a conflict. Might be a local one with only two factions or a bigger with more countries.
In this book a full background to the conflict is given. In addition, maps and rules for scenarios to fight the 'historical events' of this conflict.
Scenary would be build to show some nice terrain sets for the battlereport pictures. This 'how to build this and that' could be part of a hobby section in the book.
Last but not least and maybe most important: The full army list of all gear that was used in the conflict (unit cards).
The first pages could as well tweak some rules or even add more detail to the existing ones.

MGP could go on with selling the basic rules and surprise us with a 'source/faction' army-book every few month or even quicker. If the gear in the faction-armybook is extended, this could be done in S & P as usual.

my thoughts.....

One important thing that should be in ANY future rulebook -
BETTER ARTWORK! Or if not, then at least cool photos of modern day battles, equipment, etc.
