The technology tree is incomplete. There is no way to extrapolate the "correct" way for future war Traveller style. We don't have enough information. So we have to simply decide on what the outcome is and fill in the tech tree to make that happen.

That’s why we have GM fiat and IMTU. Each of us decides how these ideas and concepts will function in our individual Traveller series. Back in the days of CT although there were pearls of information we just made it up as we went along.
