Fusion Plant

Emperor Mongoose
A fusion plant costs 20% of the vehicles spaces and gives a Longevity (= range?) of many years.
Under Fuel Capacity I can decrease Range by 75% to gain ~30% of vehicle spaces.

Using both I can install a fusion plant that costs money, but no spaces, still having a longevity of many years.

Is this intended? Or is Longevity unrelated to Range?

I believe Longevity is referring to many years of worry free service, provided you follow the manufacturer's maintenance schedule.

Subjecting it to hostile environments, hyper velocity munitions or just plain beating the hell out of it will void the warranty and will greatly reduce your enjoyment (let alone the service life) of your purchase. YMMV.

Seems like a typo to me. Power plant size <> fuel capacity. A smaller plant means less power.

Reducing RANGE should give you back some spaces, but really, that amount seems rather high.

I do not think it's a typo...

The power plant and its default fuel is abstracted. You can get more or less Range by adding or subtracting fuel.

The fusion power plant is big and expensive, but has advantages. I'm not sure you should be able to make it smaller than the regular power plant (and fuel), by decreasing the Range from years to years.

Right. As long as it's just fuel that is the issue. But the power plant itself wouldn't be shrunk and produce the same output unless you had a TL upgrade in there assuming one was available. That's what I was referring to. Generally fuel is tracked separately. So reducing the range should potentially give you more space.

I would "patch" it and say and use the text that a fusion plant can't take less than 10 spaces, which will make this trick useless for vehicle with less than 50 spaces.
