Fire Control Question

Can someone clear something up for me? The example in the Revised Core 2022 threw me for a loop. Regarding Fire Control, say, for example, a ship has Fire Control 3. The book talks about the level of Fire Control giving bonuses. This is where i'm borked.

Does that mean:

Three automated shots at DM+0(?)
One shot made by a Gunner at DM+3
Or.."a combination of the two"? So, 1 shot at DM+1 from a Gunner and two automated shots at DM+1?

Straighten this out for me, pwease.

I would say an automated shot is one slot, a DM+1 is one slot.

FC-3 has three slots.

So, in your example: Two automated shots, and a DM+1.

yes but could you have 3 shots at +1 or one shot at +2 and another at +1? (This question came up for me recently but I did not bother to ask. I am interested in the answer though)

FC-3 has three slots, distribute as needed.

The automated shots get no DM to their attack roll. 3 uses per turn for your system with a 3 rating. Automated Skill Zero shot or add +1 to any crew Gunner's attack roll.
