Expanding Spinward Marches' Regina sub-sector

I've already started getting notes together about the Regina sub-sector. Each system present there is detailed on a "Regina Subsector" piece of paper with its corresponding UWP on it and decoded.

I've also produced a colour coded enlarged version of the Spinward Marches map, to get an idea of how Regina sub-sector fits in with its neighbours. I've photocopied the Regina sub-sector map for more note making (but don't know what just yet) in both A4 and A3 versions.

I know next to nothing about astronomy. I've got the bits of paper together - now I need suggestions on how to expand the sub-sector further.

Thank you :D

Expanded map: You might want to add a bit of Gvurrdon to your "context" map.

Old CT adventures spend some time in Regina subsector: Kinunir for a start, which visits several systems, and the JTAS shorts "Foodrunner", "Dagger at Efate", and "Rescue on Ruie" all come to mind. While you don't need to run them, they do provide colorful details for the worlds themselves.

Build a list of references and quick hints:
-------
Jenghe (1810 C799663-9 S Ni 323 Im M0 V)
-Spinward Main
-Imperiallines Office
-Colony of Regina
-Gravity: 0.9; Orbit 0 (H); Base Mean Temp: 268.3 K (-4.7 C)
-Main starport bar is "Planetfall Liberty" built in an Octagon Society building. (CT Adv 3)
--------
Regina (1910 A788899-C A Ri Cp 703 Im F7 V M8 D M6 D)
-Spinward Main
-XBoat Junction (3-way to Dinomn, Jenghe, Roup)
-On Imperial Border
-Amber Zone Ruie one parsec away over Imperial border.
-Home fief of Norris, Archduke of the Domain of Deneb.

Do you mean how the sub-sector systems are in relation to each other or the planetary bodies within each system?
I'm happy with how the sub-sector systems are in relation to each other.

I'd like to design/create the planetary (& other) bodies within each system.

There is the abstract system in MGT Scout, but if you want more detail you want to look for either CT Book 6: Scouts, Grand Survey/Grand Census, MT Referee's Manual (GDW) and World Builder's Handbook (DGP), or TNE Main book and World Tamers Guide.

Regina system itself has been detailed.

The "problem" (really only for astrophysical purists) is that the older systems were based on the Titus-Bode "Law". Orbits were at fixed radii regardless of central star, though there was room for odd orbits as special cases. This makes tables for travel times easy to do in advance, but no longer fits the observed real universe around us. If that doesn't bother you, the fairly easy to come by MT Referee's Manual is probably the quickest to acquire for system layout, while the World Builder's Handbook is still the gold standard for easy planetary details.

Both the MT Referee's Manual and the TNE main book are available in PDF from the usual online retailers. The World Builder's Handbook is much rarer, due to license "issues" that keep it from reappearing as a PDF.

Thanks :) . I've made some personal notes already - "Tell me about the Stars" but they're still a work in progress. I've got MGT Scout and I'm going to scurry off and read it in detail :)

The first Megatraveller computer game (Not Quest for the Ancients, but the previous one where I never was able to get past the first firefight) has system maps, with names of individual planets, for some of the systems in Regina subsector.

Have you checked out some of the online resources out there?

Utzig's site is nice, and I'm not sure its totally 'canon', but it already has the systems generated that, at least I think, match the UWP and other system information available. It's at http://www.utzig.com/cgi-bin/iai/map_top.pl

There's the GURPS Traveller stuff at http://www.sjgames.com/gurps/traveller/maps.html (most info though)

And the Traveller Wikia, which has snippets of things from a lot of different sources at http://traveller.wikia.com/wiki/Traveller_Wiki

Unless you really dig all the creation, I'd say use what's out there to make your life as a ref easier.

I want to create my own stuff. It keeps me occupied and stretches my brain :)
