Excel Ship Designer v2026.01.22

You do realize I have go back and fix a TON of ships now! Sigh. And they are some of my favorite ships.
It's going to be version 1.7 of the core rulebook ships after I finally had it all sorted out. At least it's only v1.1 for High Guard, but that has 5 times the 100 tonners in it. :p
I had already made the 100 ton ship 6 ton bridge MTU standard BEFORE the updated CRB and it stays. I've also raised the 10 ton bridge range to be from 101 ton to 500 ton ships.

Personally I'm considering making the non starship bridges the same as small bridges for that tonnage of ships but without the penalty.

Frankly I would house rule this to require an additional 4T for a Jump-capable ship's bridge at 100-199T.
Since removing it would risk breaking something, what will probably happen is that the drop down will default to the rules HG ships were built with, and the dropdown box selecting it will move to the hidden columns. Most people know that the password is Password, and they can unlock and unhide that area to change it on the few edge cases that it would apply to.
Effectively, the sheet will operate RAW, but you can unlock the typo if you really want to.

On another subject, why should adding bulkheads to a spinal mount be counted against you vs max size of the weapon, I'm enclosing the max tonnage, not bulking it up?

Thank you very much! (Umm, is that saying you can scoop from a high density atmosphere Non-Gas Giant world?!?)
That makes me furrow my brow a bit, too: a dense (8) atmosphere won't be likely to have hydrogen floating about, while atmosphere 9 might (in the form of hydrocarbon pollutants) but presumably won't usually, given the wide variety of what counts as tainted: dust, bacteria, high CO2 content etc...

Water vapour? I doubt if there would be much at high altitude even in a dense atmosphere...

How many hydrogen containing compounds in the dense atmosphere of Venus at altitude?

Good point about the sparsity of water vapour.

I think Venus would count as B or C: Corrosive or even Insidious judging by the fun the Russians had keeping their Venera landers alive. It is mainly CO2 but the clouds are predominantly H2SO4. You get fun stuff like HCl and HFl in small quantities. Dense (in the core rulebook, at least) is only up to 2.49 atmospheres, though, and Venus is nearly 100 atmospheres. And hella hot, famously.

The upper atmosphere is mainly atomic oxygen and CO2.

Eventually I am going to have to just cut off the feature requests until I get it out...
Might want to do it now. There will be more when the Vehicle Handbook comes out tomorrow. Comfort points, revised house rules on computer costs, and likely much more. Sounds like you might want to make that a separate deal.

Yeah. Ya hear that? No more features until after the next upload!
Bug reports are OK... I guess.
