Excel Ship Designer v2025.05.03d

Unless I'm an idiot (possible) my math checks out.

Geir is using the price for the Tigress from HG Update 2022, p284. Because his starting price is lower than yours, the final time-to-completion is shorter. Other than that, it looks like the results align quite nicely.

I would also love to point out that the Tigress spends 90.25 GCr on just the Hull; and similar amounts on both the M-Drive, J-Drive, and about half of that on Power Plant. Something like ~89% of the entire cost of the ship is in just those four separate components.

Hmmm. I thought I had copied and pasted but I screwed that up somewhere. The new number is even worse for trying to hit 58 years. ;)

It's one reason I standardized components for the Confederation Navy.

It's mostly plug and play, rather than customizing each per tonnage.

So that when the rule was adopted from Tee/Five about ganging up engineering, it was really convenient.

Test Version of the new summary page, carried craft, robot brains, and a few fixes.
If anyone wants to help me find what is broken, here it is...

I had just enough time to peek. It looks really nice.

I did note that the following:

Robot Brain Interface from the comp tab doesn't show up on the computer programs on the summary tab. As it is a program, perhaps moving it to join the other programs would correct that.
On the vehicle selection section, Bounty Hunter is misspelled as Bonty Hunter.
The selected vehicle (Stealth G/Bike in this case) didn't show up on the summary tab after I selected it and chose a quantity.

And a suggestion. Sort the vehicles alphabetically.

Inserting things while doing the summary got some pointers off. Looks like those (above) are sorted, including the fuel purifier that wasn't reporting correctly.

I need to go back and fix the prices to use the non-standardized design totals instead of discounted purchase prices on craft. Otherwise, it's double dipping the discount. I was putting in the cheaper purchase prices. D'oh.

Depends, if the ship in question doesn't have a standard design discount it should be able to still get it for any onboard small craft.

Not going to lie, I have no inclination to make another ten toggles for that.
With 20 custom slots, they can put the discounted price in there.
Or I can make ONE toggle for the 10 dropdown slots. But as is, some are discounted and some are not. Needs standardization

Of just ignore it and make em pay retail. ;)

So you ever think of setting up an access data base to pull the information from you spreadsheet? It could be set up so the ship design excel sheet creates an Access data file for the ships.

NEW VERSION 2024.11.11

Computer Brains
Fuel/Cargo Containers can use the main tanks and can have cargo cranes and loading belts. Due to the ability to use main tanks, it will be in the Fuel tab and the Summary's Fuel Section.
Craft are now supported. Because of clamps, I can't do an automatic comparison of craft vs docking capacity. You are on your own there.
I think I finally fixed the add-on Command Bridge... even though I could swear I had that one done a while ago
Thanks to Terry Mixon for the fabricator/deconstructor section on the 9b-Optional Tab
Cargo bays can now be separately armored, as can magazine storage.
The Summary replaces most of the Record Sheet.
