Enhanced (Space) Range Bands. Can't find them again ...

I'm 100% sure I've seen in one of my books an addition for the classic space range bands (going up to distant) with two or three other ranges. But god damn I can't find it again.

Can someone help me and tell me which Book and what Page it was?

I really like this as a visual reminder of the effect of each range band on weapons, accuracy and sensors.

Plus, it has the bonus that it teaches you some pretty obscure words in Spanish...

Keep in mind too that Very Long range is the cap on direct weapon fire, even with increased range advantages, per HG2e22 p72. Missiles can strike Distant targets, especially if they have more than standard thrust units. Very Distant and Far ranges are just for sensors.

If a slingshot manoeuvre increases speed by taking advantage of a gravity well's gravity, it could, marginally do so, for weapon systems aimed through it.

Not really, and definitely not for lasers. Photons are already going as fast as they possibly can.

You could use a slingshot to gain bonus Thrust for the purposes of changing range, sure. But it wouldn't affect weapons aside from how long it takes to transition from one range to another.

If you are close enough to a big-enough gravity well to affect the path of your lasers to a measurable degree then the other ship is the least of your problems.
