Earthdawn gamemasters companion question

Will the gamemasters companion contain new creatures not found in any other sourcebook?

Will there be a more detailed view on the Invae?

I think the insect spirits have probably survived Scourge.

The Gamemaster's Companion has more powerful creatures suited as opponents for higher-Circle adepts, the bulk of it will be about Great Dragons and Named Horrors, though. Also, adept NPCs of different Circles (IIRC 6 different Circles for each of the 15 Disciplines) that you can use as opponents.

There won't be more about the Invae than what is in the Gamemaster's Guide, as the GM Guide already covers them up to very high power levels (Spirit Strength Ratings).
The Invae are something from Barsaive's history we'll mostly leave for you to use as you wish at this point.
There's always the possibility of them returning, though...

Yep, the Invae will probably return, the horror threat has subsided.

In your opinion, how was the Invae affected during the Scourge?

I would suspect that the Horrors probably destroyed them. The rest fled to their netherplane.

But there are probably remnants lurking, probably most likely even a queen.

Well, the Invae always have their home plane to fall back to, or where more of them might lurk, so they might be safe from the Horrors there.

They might also have held out in Barsaive (or some other part of the world) in underground cults and in hiding. They were living among people before, using them, and this might well have happened in the kaers too.

The queens are usually the last ones to enter the physical world, so at least in Barsaive, where the Invae were fought off, they wouldn't have had that capability. Except if you still have some very large, unopened kaer where the Invae managed to gain the upper hand during the centuries of the scourge. A giant kaer the size of a large city ruled by an Invae queen would be interesting, with many of the population being taken over by Invae spirits on a regular basis.

Like the one under the Mist Swamps...

That's probably why Aban is keeping people out, he's probably trying to quarantine the place.

I think the Horrors probably destroy the Invae on sight, Horrors don't like competition.

I don't know.
Do Invae feel pain?
If not, most Horrors would probably leave them alone.

(There's nowhere where it says whether they feel pain or not, though...)

Actually insect don't feel pain. Insects don't have nociceptors like we do.

However the Horrors don't like the Invae since if the Invae turn all humans into insect hybrids then where will the Horrors get their food.

So the Invae are probably viewed as a grave threat by the horrors and are destroyed on sight.

Probably the reason why the horrors don't go for the Invae homeworld, the horrors will not benefit by getting pain emotions from the invae and the Invae probably has a LOT of Invae so destroying them will be very very costly indeed.

When you say named horrors you mean like Verjigrom ? Also will the Horror Stalker Discipline be in the Players or Gm's companion? If not could we possibly be getting a Horrors sourcebook later on down the line? :D
