Drakh Counters

While we are waiting for the remolding and other repair work on the Drakh models, I recently tried to find some good counters to begin a campaign that I wanted to try the Drakh in. Rbax did a great job with the Fast Destroyer, Light Cruiser and Raiders (L & H) counters (though I would have prefered black over purple background). Has anyone else given a try to get the Scout, Cruiser, Carrier and Mothership modelled onto counters :?: (Or otherwise know where I could track those counters down? )

The missing Drakh counters are available in Vassal ACTA, however there only taken from pictures on the Mongoose website and converted into Counters.
Give me a minute and i'll see if i still have those counters on my pc.

Also i didn't like the Blue Background of Rbaxs Drakh so i changed them to black.

Since i only used the counters for Vassal ACTA, i've no idea how to print them to the correct size etc.
That will be up to you

Ok, this is my first attempt at a top-down counter for the Drakh Mothership. I don't think I have the dimensions quite right yet. I'm basing this off of the appearance the ship made. (I don't know the precise episodes but one of the images can be found here: http://archive.firstones.com/tp2b/drakh_mothership.html).
They also have an interesting take on the carrier there.

Regarding size, the Drakh counters above, should be proportionally the correct size.

Yeah, thats the carrier from "Lines of Communication" which in theory shouldn't actually have any weapons, since it didn't use any at exactly the point when you would have expected it too...

Also appears in much more heavily armed form in ACtA the movie. And I think is the shape that the Drakh cruiser should actually be...

well the mothership you posted and the carrier from the link that was up I am turning into counters for vassal right this moment.

thats of course as long as you dont mind as its ur picture.

and so you know, the vassal counters when I have printed them seem about the right size for ACTA.
counter sizes are (in pixels):
Fighters 100x100
Small Ships: 111x201
Large ships: 165x300

I have adjusted the mothership picture and done one of the carrier, although dunno how to put them onto here.

I can put them up on vassal now if people would like as well. or you can wait for the new ships to be put in when released next tuesday.

I've attempted an update with a little resizing of the so it's more in line with the pixel dimensions of the other counters. I've also redrafted the website's Carrier image into the Heavy Cruiser since it had more of an aggressive feel then I would associate with a carrier. On to the Scout and Carrier (and maybe Breaching pod).

Any chance of doing all the latest ship releases as counters?
We need the Pak Ma Ra,Anicents,Shakara,Nolotar, most of the Arma ships!

I still think I'm a pretty short of Rbax's skill. I need more time and better image software to do justice, and I think Rbax did his by hand and scanned in. Without his to base off of (like the skin) I'd still be floundering. I'll try to go through what I can and start threads for the other fleets when I can get to them.

the drakh scout counter is too small really. small ships are generally 111x201 pixels. but looks quite cool. doing them bigger is ok as I dont mind shrinking them down, but smaller is worse for enlarging them

I can rejig if for the 110x200 counters. I had them at 100x100 because they, like the raiders, are very small ships that can be held by the motherships.

true but raiders and scouts are still ships. not aux craft so should be min size same as things like tethys, havens etc. otherwise you end up with an advantage on the LRs that not many fighters can get in side arc like they should.

Very cool. Now, we just need to take that new Drakh Carrier picture take the overhead profile, and overlay with the Tiger-Stripe texture, and we've got the whole fleet on counters.

Seriously, with the reduction in size it lost or corrupted too much detail and was just a jumbled mess. I hope to have it corrected when I get back in a couple days. (No computer access for the weekend trip.)

well stretched the drakh scout and it actually looks quite cool stretched.
just need a carrier or cruiser (on of the 2 cos of the other carrier) and the drakh are done.
I will have them in next update along with bluestar etc.

That desing looks WAY better than the CGI shown in the new minis thread. Still Ill reserver judgement on the new mini till I see the final version.

all the new drakh counters are into the next edition of Vassal now. just waiting for tomorrows S&P article to add the other new ships and latest vassal will be up.
have also grouped all the counters together and printed them off look cool

oh and added Sulfurdown to the credits of the ACTA vassal mod. excellent counters now we just need the armageddon ships

Almost ready to close out the Drakh archive. Here is the resized counter for the (non-model based) Scout. It's not inline with the model so it's up to katadder, etc whether you want to go with this one or the one already loaded for the Vassal system. (Also - I've got no idea how acceptable they are for use in Tourneys. I'm guessing, like everything else, it's up to the organizers.)
