Drakh Amu Mothership

I searched but couldn't find another thread on the topic. Maybe its been done to death long ago, and if so, I apologize.

Does anyone else find the Amu Mothership to be very disgustingly effective? It's an Armageddon ship arguably worth over a War point all by itself, yet it can bring an entire War Point + Battle point to the game with the only restriction being they must launch at the end of Turn 1.
So for the Drakh, its a net gain of at least a Battle Point, plus a bit more.

Is this viewed to the general play populace as just "their thing" and it makes sense in context of the overall Drakh fleet weaknesses, or is it seen as "borken" ?

I'm very excited to be back in the game, and seeing a LOT more balance than I perceived before. But I find this lack of balance...disturbing.

I most certainly never look at it as "borken" ;-)

anyhow, yes, at what it brings with it, it is horribly effective, that said, the Drakh need all the help they can get with the whole galaxy arrayed against them

"Borken"??? like "Borkenkäfer" ...an bug in our region

ok back to topic. and when we all can see an model for this ship???

its slow and short ranged. yes it is like a warship so bringing another warship inside it does mean you have armageddon level plus a little bit more. but then alot of armageddon ships are armageddon level plus a little bit more in fighters.

also its only really effective when surrounded. in 1v1s it would lose to warlocks and g'vrahns as it doesnt have the firepower they do in one arc alone.

...That's ok. I find Your lack of Faith... disturbing...

Short ranged? 20 isn't short ranged.

And as folks point out this isn't a duel game... so when is it going up against anything alone?

Plus the other Arm. ships may have fighters... but hardly a Battle point worth much less ships that are big enough to stand back and fight outside secondary range, fighters have to go into harms way for the most part.

Is it borken.... not so much as far as I can tell yet... but pretty close to top of heap and a pinch.

I have a really bad experience with heavy Drakh ships - they tend to loose GEG really quickly due to critical hits from fighters swarming around them (I lost this way both Amu and Dra'Vash during single campaign). And without GEG they die. Swarms of riders with their carriers and a few light cruisers / fast destroyers supporting them are the true way of playing Dragh. Their biggers ships are weak - a squadron of four fast destroyers is far more deadly and has better chances to survive then the Dra'Vash cruiser. Amu is fine if you get WAR level battle and you use it to deliver RAID level ships to battle. Later it becomes antyfighter center. If you are lucky your enemy will concentrate on her giving remaining ships a chance to survive one turn longer and deliver their punch once more.

It's true that one of its big deals is as a fire magnet... but as many Narn can tell you, things only draw that kind of fire if they are scary. Big ships that aren't a threat get put on the clean up later list.

Nova often fell on that list in comparison to the Hyperion. Yes the Nova had more total AD on board... but the DD/SAP beam (1st ed) was far more dangerous (plus a solid helping of regular AD), and could be eliminated in a reasonable amount of time. I find old Mothership got little attention if you couldn't stop the raider launch, but the new one is almost never left alone.

As to the starting 36 inches away... I'm surprised, generally we don't do that intentionally as the Drahk, or if we do we keep the rest of the fleet with it so that the whole fleet enters the fight in one move.
