Destructive Effect Vehicle scale Weapons

Ok, we have this three scale system, as such does a vehicle scale weapon with the destructive effect do damage effectively on the Starship scale?

Last I looked mounted vehicle weapons were like mounted ship weapons. I.e. weapons that were too heavy to carry and try to shoot. Depended on the size of the vehicle of course. And a machinegun duct taped to a motorcycle did not count as a mounted vehicle weapon.

I'll take another look.

That is a different post..... As there is going to need some wiggle room in the vehicle vs personal scale weapons....

I'm looking at the revised chart on page 157. It looks like vehicle scale weapons do a 10th of damage against spaceships, whether it's a DD or D weapon.

Correct - that allows seamless transition of damage.

That Cannon from the vehicle section does 1DD. Basically 1D versus spacecraft.
That Fusion gun does 3DD. So 3D vs spacecraft (ouch).

Ok that is how I was reading it....

All correct - just remember that you count Effect when going up the scale, but not when going down (you are already doing enough damage!).

Ok, Going to go read that wording closely as it might need some work...

Indeed. All I see is that destructive weapons never add effect. And it does not have an exception for changing scales. Unless I missed it...

Excellent point, hoisted by my own petard :)

Okay, going to make a change (this is not elegant, but it is simple and it works). Destructive weapons never add Effect unless they are attacking a target of a higher scale.
