Could 760 Patrons do the job ?

One of the problems I increasingly have with my Enki II setting is the
need to come up with interesting NPCs to fill the various roles in the
colony: The members of the administration, the merchants and shop
owners, the scientists at the colony's small research institute ...

Since the campaign includes only the important events in the history
of the colony as adventures, with all the rest of the colony's develop-
ment in the "off time", time is running fast in the campaign, and I ha-
ve to replace the important NPCs every few months - and to add more
of them, because the colony keeps growing.

I do not have 760 Patrons, because I never used the patron idea for
my campaign (the Colony Council is the characters' only "patron"),
but after reading this thread I wonder whether 760 Patrons could be
a useful tool for the creation of all those NPCs the setting needs, and
could save me from working my mind into a writer's block.

What do you think, could 760 Patrons do that job ?

Rust...that was one of the EXACT reasons I had in mind when I wrote it.
Thank you very much. :D

And now I am on my way to DTRPG to download it ...

Meanwhile I have downloaded 760 Patrons and browsed
a little, and it indeed does the job very well. :D :D :D

I see I am a bit late on this discussion, but I agree. 760 Patrons will do EXACTLY what you are looking to do.

You can pull specific types of NPCs (Merchants, Administrators etc) or you have the option to randomize everything.

This is the best NPC building book I have ever come across.

WARNING: It doesn't create the entire NPC for you. You will not get UPP stats, skills etc, but it will give you their job and a bit of personality that you can then build on. And honestly, you don't need a UPP for every NPC you have, just something to tell you how they will act and what they do.

VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Indeed, in most cases I only need an idea of the personality and the mo-
tivation of an NPC, and this is the difficult part for me: Coming up with
interesting NPCs without repeating previous ideas, and in my opinion this
is where 760 Patrons really shines.
Everything else, be it stats (if needed at all) or physical descriptions (ea-
sy to produce with tables), is comparatively easy to add.
