Homebrew Campaigns, Alien Megastructures, and Inspiration.

Howdy folks. I am running a homebrew Traveller campaign that does not use the Third Imperium setting. I am sure there are more than a few people here that like me like to base campaign ideas in real world science. I have a hard time with pure hand wavium physics. My current campaign takes place about 350 years from now and Earth has just developed faster than light travel. I am a hard sci-fi big idea kind of sci-fi lover so my game is moving towards a big reveal of a species that is high on the Kardeshev scale and is using Megastructures to do some important things.

I am curious how other GM's handle things like alien megastructures and some of the results of them. Personally I pull my ideas and inspiration from novels as well as other resources. I figured I would share some of the links I use regularly for not only inspiration but in preparing for my games. What are some of the sources that other like minded GM's use? I am sure people new to the game could use the inspiration.

Here is probably the best youtube channel on realistic sci fi

https://www.youtube.com/@isaacarthurSFIA

I would start with the playlists section, here are his videos on megastructures for example.
