Corridor Depot Sapient Natives?

So I was looking to see if I could find the thing on the Vargr and the Corridor Depot, that era not being my strong suit. And I came across a reference (on the wiki :p) to the Corridor Depot's main world having a sentient species native to it, the Miiminri.

As far as I can tell, the only information on this is some T5 world data card or something? Just curious if any of this, about the world or the species, actually exists in print somewhere or if its T5 faerie dust? :D

Corridor and Depot showed up in MegaTraveller Journal #2 in an article, 'Life Under the Vargr: Snapshots of the Occupation', by James Holden, and in The Rebellion Sourcebook.
It's Rebellion Era. Depot/Corridor fell to a Vargr state in 1118 or so.
As for native sophonts, you can include them or not. It's YOUR TU, after all...

I am aware that I can do whatever I want. I wanted to know if there was more information on this tidbit to see if I liked it or not.

I don't have the MegaTraveller Journal anymore. I do have the rebellion sourcebook, but as far as I am aware it just says that no one maintains control over the Corridor Depot.

As I pointed out in another thread, canon is it fell to the Vargr in 1118. The map in Rebellions Sourcebook shows this even if you don’t have MTJ. Although I’d add that if you’re interested in Corridor, MTJ is almost required because pretty much no other sources go into as much detail. Maybe some HIWG stuff?

Miiminri are now only 10% of the population on their homeworld. Maybe this was due to cultural assimilation with the humans that brought the high tech with them when they settled? Depot is TL F now and I cannot see how Miiminri's populations would have dwindled if they were that technically advanced on their own merit, so I suppose settlers must have helped them. Or oppressed them to the point of near extinction. But the latter would have been a significant event on the timeline if true, surely?

The whole thing has some serious issues :D The pop for Depot is 3. So there's a few thousand humans and a few hundred of these natives? Bit on the 'things that make you go hmmm" side.

Yes the pop code is 3 on the Wiki, but on Travellermap it is raised to 4. Also on Travellermap the Tech code has reduced to D. Something is happening. Might it just be a ISS survey human error formally entered into the database?

In some systems the TL of the system is actually only the TL of the Starport. I tend to hate it, but it is part of Charted Space UWPs and descriptions. Exocet is an example of this.

This would most likely be only the non-navy personnel. Part of that "fuzzy" UWP that you guys love and that I hate. lol

Good point. Just makes you wonder why humans settled there in bigger numbers.

The native race isn't a member of the Imperium, the starport and its surroundings are Imperial.

Similar could be said of the Polar Bear, Monarch Butterfly, Vaquita or Asian Elephant. But does that mean they don't count?
I have no idea what the point of that statement is. Who said anything about them not counting? It is very strange to have that small a population of a sentient species on its homeworld. There's plenty of possible explanations for that. There just needs to be one.

But, since the species seems to be faerie dust, it's kind of a moot point.

Indeed. I would agree.
There just needs to be one.
Indeed. Unless the issue of their apparent demise was complex, then there could have been multiple factors. But there doesn't appear to be any written up (yet). That is not the same as shrugging them off because they are small in population, which is what I gleamed was your earlier meaning. Sorry if that was only a misunderstanding.
