Which is why I am so pumped for Noble Armada - so easy to port these ships into Traveller.

This is my map of Earth in 2130 A.D. What you're seeing is the result of runaway climate change and sporadic nuclear/biological warfare. Earth is none the less a major trading world.

Climate Change is just a BS scheme used by world governments to tax people and animals because of their "carbon foot(hoof)prints".

Umm, this is probably not the place to get going on that.
And you get angry when people go off topic on your threads.

Anyway nice map. :D

Thanks BP for the Logo.! I do have other ships. Just checking its ok to post them... (well the models any way) - well double double checking...

I have idea for a Broadsword II.. Then theres turning the 2300 Missile Cruiser into a drone loaded DD for Traveller...then theres a Scout Cruiser - I was thinking about the Big ship on the cover of the Spinward Marches Campaign ok its probably not a Scout Cruiser...

How'd ya sink the Rockies, Alps, etc?

I think that the mountain chains are still there. It looks like the coastal flats around them are inundated.

I am a little fuzzy on the geography of Italy though, so I am not sure where the mountain spine that ran down the boot stops, and I thought that the Great plains of North America were closer to sea level and should be flooded, but I might be wrong there.

In any event, most of the alps look to be irradiated.

Naw, it has the highest part of the Rockies under with lower parts (Canada under) The plains start at ~6000'. Also the Sierra Nevada & Cascades in West US (14,000 feet) are gone. The mountains in Alaska, up to 20,000 feet, under. The Andes 20,000 feet+ gone. I misnamed the Alps as gone. The South East US IS there although it is barely above sea level.

If "dark blue" on this map means "under water", one would have to im-
port a huge amount of water from somewhere else to get such a sea le-
vel.

Edit.:
Well, a mere 1.500.000.000 cubic kilometers of water should do.

Or perhaps the sea rose in other places. (Mountains falling into it or something).

I'm not seeing what you're all talking about with missing/sunken mountain ranges. I even did a quick overlay to confirm:

Dark Green = Current Land Masses (and future flooded/sunken areas)

Light Blue/Gray = Projected Land Masses

Yellow/Orange = Irradiated Areas

Light Green/Blue = Current Water Area

The images didn't map exactly but I think it's close enough to see that the mountain ranges being discussed are unchanged. Yes?

The only major issue I have is with Greenland. I'd read once (don't recall the where or when, some geophysical text or other) if the ice covering it were removed (melted) that besides raising sea level globally (some small amount) it would also raise the entire continent by much more as the weight bearing down on it is removed and the crust rebounds (no doubt with some extreme vulcanism thrown in). So I can't really see it disappearing, and I wonder if the poster of the map mistakenly imagined Greenland was all (mostly) ice?

Quick google for what Greenland would look like without ice:

Other than that the only other remarkable is what happened to Eastern Canada. Quebec obviously finally got the Separation they were looking for and took the Maritimes with them. Loaded the whole lot onto a heavy grav lifter, covered with a dome, and lit out for the stars I guess ;)

Lots of people can't read maps. Don't stress about it. I like it. If you could prevent water from freezing anywhere on Earth, it might look something like that. Not like Waterworld's or A.I.'s worlds.

Can anyone tell me who the artist was on the Traveller 2300 box cover and/or does anyone have a large copy of the image?

This is the image I am looking for:

I assume the Artisit is Steve Venters as the style looks similar to the other 2300ad stuff he did.

This is all Google turned up though:

http://traveller.wikia.com/wiki/Steve_Venters

It is a nice cover. :D

Aye, got to be him. He's got a very distinctive signature.
Good stuff he does, Twighlight 2000 and Battletech too, besides others.

Somebody did ask me to do that vehicle.. not quite got to it, had some crap to deal with and getting distracted....

Hey guys, I'm planning to make a contribution to the Traveller universe with a remote pirate empire. Would you know anything about the rules of the Traveller wikia regarding creating new articles like this?

Just a side note, that is indeed Steve's work! I went to college in Normal Illinois and Steve lived in either Normal or Bloomington at the time. I stared at that particular piece of artwork for a long time as he worked on it in his studio.

I came to know him through a mutual friend and ended up interviewing him for a Military Science class I was taking. Steve's art is very distinctive and for me comes to life very easily. After leaving school I lost touch with the mutual friend and him but I do recall hearing something through the grapevine about him living in the Chicago land area...
