Colin's Inspirational Traveller Art Thread

Yes... The artists amongst us are indeed wonderful.. Breath taking scenes and points to ponder upon. Utopias and Hells and everything between.

Just amazing stuff

Take care

Thanks for all the kind words. The funny thing is, the thing that prompted me to start the thread sooner rather than later was someone saying, "It's hard to find good sci-fi artists." If nothing else, I hope I've proven otherwise; in this day and age it's possible to find good artists for pretty much anything and anything quickly and easily if you know what you're doing.

I like most of what I see here. Some of the art is a little "darker" than what my impression of the Traveller Universe looks like. But, I am talking about My Impression. We each have our own impression of what the Taveller Universe looks like.

Here is a challenge for all you artistically blessed. Do you have images of what starport life looks like? Passenger areas, cargo areas, concourses, customs, maintenance activities, ect

What are your interpretations on what the different class A, B, C, D, and E starports look like.

This really isn't the thread to be asking for artists on the forums to start producing and sharing art on; all of the art here is by folks off-site, very few who've likely even heard of Traveller, and all of which is selected based on my personal minimum standards of quality and applicability. Hence it being called, "Colin's Inspirational Traveller Art Thread" rather than "General Traveller Art" or somesuch.

A general Traveller Fan Artists thread might not be a bad idea though, if you want to create one, but in this case I'd like to keep this thread focused, thanks.

cheers!

Ooo, more of the scenery shots please! Those planet and stars ones are gorgeous (I like the red giant one, with the melted terrain) :)

The "We Are Home" one is also really good, especially since he drew the scratches in the window too :)

Yeah - I agree - I think "We Are Home" is the best of the thread so far.

I do wonder though, who would go to the painstaking effort of painting a galaxy, when the end result looks indistinguishable from an actual photograph.. ? :?
