Clockwork & Chivalry for RQII

I bought a hard copy of the rules a few weeks ago and have now bought the first three adventures via DriveThru.

Congratulations on an excellent, evocative game.

I already have plans for a game in the new world, where the Alchemists of the Cavalier colony of Virginia at the College of William and Mary have to deal with the literal machinations of the New Englanders at Harvard, not to mention the shamanistic practices of the natives and the schemings of the devilish French.

There should be a review up at my blog this week.

Many thanks for the kind words :D

Your game plans sound excellent - I would love to play in that campaign :)

*A host of new Professions and Factions

I'm guessing Highwayman, Ruffian, Witch, Cunning Man, Iconoclast.
Factions: Adamite.

Anything else?

*Expanded and detailed information on weapons of the era

The two articles from S&P?

*An extensive section describing the soldiers of the English Civil War and their foreign counterparts

This sounds new.

*Scotland as a place for adventure in the Clockwork & Chivalry universe

As does this.

*Random NPC, Village and Adventure Seed generators

New?

*Three complete adventures

Dragon of Naseby and The Naked & the Dead?

*A selection of pre-generated characters to get your Clockwork & Chivalry games off to a quick start

More than the ones from DoN?

Started by quoting, but got into quote-unquote nightmare, so decided not to...

OK, from the top...

You guessed right with professions/factions, but there will be some more too, including Scottish-specific ones and things like Fifth Monarchists, etc. Yes, weapons from S&P, but with many of them illustrated. Lots of new stuff on soldiers from Colin. All-new Scotland. All new random tables, including Pete's rather unsavoury random pub name generator  (and some sensible pub names too) Yes, those two adventures, plus a third, "The Mad Monk of the Moss", which will be appearing in S&P in May. Ready made PCs - those from Dragon of Naseby, a set of Royalists to go with the new adventure, and a "generic" mixed party which can be used to get a game off to a quick start - suitable for the Kingdom & Commonwealth campaign, etc.

Good point Colin!

The balance of the book will be at least half new material - including the "Compleat Souldier", an extensive look at Soldiers in the Clockwork and Chivalry setting. Included in that will be an expansion of the current Professions; plenty of specialist Soldier professions; exotic and foreign troop types; and lots of Scots (to complement the other large section on setting a game in Scotland).

The tables and charts aren't just a few add-ons but all you need to create random adventures for C&C (you should have seen the random pub name generator before it got censored).

As well as the extra pre-gens (about 18 in all, including the DoN ones) the existing S&P stuff will be expanded, and fully illustrated and properly laid out for ease of use.

We think that this is going to be a seriously cool book - thorough and packed with stuff as (I hope) you would expect from C&W, and a worthy addition to the C&C library :)

Thanks Peter. You have just convinced me that it will be woth buying.

:D We always try and produce cool stuff that we would want to buy/play and that we can enjoy putting together. If not, we wouldn't bother. If you like what we have done so far you won't be disappointed. Although if I were an Adventurer I might just carry on walking past any pubs I encounter...
