centauri question

Literally

Brakiri box set...

Brokados - just one is plenty, really supports the Brikortas

Halik - one maybe two, but I prefer to use the Haltona variant against most forces.

Vaarl/Vaarka - same model, vree scouts have a +1 bonus to crew quality and stealth, cannot be beat as a league scout. No initaitive penalty from an abbai scout either.

Abbai - I do not think they add enough to the Brakiri aside from looks. The -2 initiative penalty is too harsh. The only exception to consider is for patrol priority ships. The Tiraca is the best of the league patrol ships outside the Vaarl. (and I love the abbai, but the brakiri do not need them as the abbai strength is their skirmish ship the Milani. The Ikorta/Brikorta fills that role nicely for the Brakiri.)

Drazi - consider a stormfalcon, a single Kaliva/Avioki is often too vulnerable due to slow speed and interceptable weapons. A stormfalcon brings triple damage/double damage weapons on a fast hull, some of those beam. Also consider a strikehawk/warbird mix (1 or 2 of each, gives you a great antiship fighter, good under Arm., and more beam.)

Raiders - if you do not mind rubbing shoulder with the scum the battlewagon is the best raid ship in the league. Hull 6/interceptors 2 and a 20 inch beam (boresight but hey who isn't nowdays), Very solid command ship for lower priority games.

True but I get the feeling there won't be a lot of new stuff coming for any of the league fleets.

Also to start mastering one fleet is the goal, so not really in need to two.

So if I look at Brakiri I get feeling tactics are limited by limited ships (although can be expanded by adding in other races once get a feel for what I would want. Abbies for nice metal but limited syngery. So likely drazi

whereas Centauri many sweet models, although it seems from this thread limited tactocs options too.

as I said a conundrum

Three of the options listed in the Which Fleet Should Be Next? thread were the Pak'ma'ra, Ipsha and Gaim (all three are league races). So there is the liklyhood of something soon, as first and second in the poll are League.

But having a 'spare' fleet available couldbe useful too.

If you think tactics are limited by ships, try the Minbari.

It always is, but in that case go for the fleet you think look the nicest, or liked best from the show.

You raise a good point about new race options

As for nice looking why I am looking very hard at Centauri

It is either Centauri starter and reinforcement box 80 %

or Brakari/Drazi boxes 18%

Narn cause I liked the race 2%

These are the Centauri ships not in either box set (ignore prices just for my budgeting)

Altarian -- 9.95
Sulust -- 8.95
Corvan -- 8.95
Adira -- 49.95
Haven 2-pack -- 6.95
Liati -- 14.95
Morgrath -- 8.95
Octurion -- 19.95

Am I correct in guessing I'd want two Sulusts? and 2 Corvans? The rest just one each to have the full range?

Is Adira that much bigger ship to be worth $50? Is it worth it game play wise?

Thanks

That depend how much dices or AD each Adira weaponds have and the abilities of those weaponds.

From what I've seen of the Adira it's well worth its level. Up to you if you think the model is worth the asking price; you could always knock up a scratch-built or converted Adira for yourself and maybe save some cash, or produce a model you like better.

To be fair, the Morgrath isn't worth buying at all. Nice model, but totally outclassed by other ships at its level. Altarians seems a bit pointless as well, but the Elutarian variant in SFoS is nice for some long-range fire.

In my opinion the Octurion is one of the best war level ships going. It's supposed to be difficult to build, though. I'd leave the Liati on the shelf, too. Too specialised and far too ugly to pay for.

I tend toward being completist will want at least one of each, and don't see any as ugly, just adding some diverse looks to the fleet

Sames except for my Mimbari fleet didn't get any Torotha's. Like to have 2 of everything though.

i couldnt get 2 of everything (where would i find space to put 2 Centauri Adira's) or the money to buy them!!!
