Centauri Corvan WIP

Boots

Mongoose
Hi,

This is my first B5 mini. It's about 90% complete just some varnish and dull coat to do. I used GW Lich purple. Highlighting Warlock purple then Tenticle Pink+Warlock for the brightest bits. The NMM gold was done with scorched brown+snakebite leather, straight snakebite, bubonic brown to bubonic + the smallest bit of yellow on highlights. Hope the photos turn out OK, I'm a nubie with digital photography :)

Thanks to all for the kind words and constructive comments. I've finished the Corvan, well just about after taking these snaps I noticed that I didn't cover the bottom very well with dullcoat...I'll give it another shot tonight. I like how the "engine glow" turned out on this one:

Boots - very nice work - even for Centauri  .

Although the pics are still a bit dark, you have great blends between tones. I suspect you've been painting minis for a while. I like the nose on the Kutai as well as the engine glow on the Corvan. The subtle hightlights on the wings of Corvan are especially well done - as are the 'tiles' on the wings.

Even the Maximus has its merits! The way you've painted the gold on the underside and on the wingtips give it a lot of depth versus just a flat coat of gold.

As for the pics, I've found natural light on an overcast, rainy or snowy day works well. Keep up the good work!

agree, the new pictures look very nice. The engine detail effect is very cool!!
too bad you're not in california, I could use an oponnent...!
