Campaign Question

Alright, say a Drahk player has aquired a Vree Xeel through an Other Duties Assistence Rendered roll. Can he replace any fighters the Xeel loses?

Ok, I don't know my vree.
If it's a fleet carrier, then yes, as it rebuilds it's own fighters, if it is not a fleet carrier, i would say he could only replace them if he is not currently in hostile situations with the vree. a nice house rule is that he pays the vree player an agreed fee.

I think that a fleet carrier can rebuild, but the new fighters will not get the vree telepathy bonus?

I seem to recall that point has come up before, in any case...

IIRC the Xeel is not a fleet carrier but it will rebuild them if it just has carrier in campaigns?

Fighters don't get telepathy bonus as they don't have CQ?

Fleet carrier gets them back in games?

Fighters have a CQ equal to the ship from which they come (or a nominal CQ if they're purchased flights) - Ranger and Vree fighters get their bonuses.

Although I think it only matters for skin dancing? Which obviously vree can't do...

OK, I guess I should add what I already know.

1. There isn't currently a Vree player in the campaign. If there was, the wording of the Other Duty would not allow Vree ships to be chosen.

2. Fighters don't have Crew Quality in 2e

3. Ships with the Carrier trait regenerate 2 lost flights at the end of the Repairs & Reinforcements phase of the campaign turn.

4. The Xeel doesn't have the Carrier trait.

That last is actually why I'm asking. If it had the Carrier trait, it'd regen 2 flights at the end of the campaign turn as normal. Also, the Xeel isn't the only possiblity that this question is relevant to, it's just the example I chose.

By the letter of the Other Duties then I would say that technically no he can't get them back - as it was a unique circumstance that allowed them to obtain the ships and its payload.

You could allow him to purchase the fighters at a premium rate which would seem fairer - perhaps at 2 or 3 RR each or something?

Incidently, Its something I ran across when i was doing a Other duty for my DR Centauri - they have a special character which allows unique refist which allows a Huge Hanger 1 / Raider combo on big ships but I tried to be careful to make it very expensive to get a replacement............

And yet another question!

Which would take precedence, The Minbari Other Duties "Vorlon Directive", or Drahk "Whispers Form the Shadows/Warmongering"?

So far our best guess is initiative order, but I'd like a second opinion or clarification.

I would say, whoever gets in there first with the Other Duty has precedence. If another player subsequently rolls an OD that contradicts the one already appointed, he may not select that player; if there are no other options, re-roll.

eg. If a Minbari player rolls Vorlon Directive, then a Drakh player rolls Whispers From The Shadows, the Drakh player may not select the Minbari player. If it goes the other way, the Drakh player rolls WFTS and selects the Minbari player and then the Minbari player rolls Vorlon Directive, he should re-roll since his attack is already determined.
