THE COLONIALS


Olympus Starbase
The standard orbital installation, built in orbit of major colonial worlds, or strategic locations. The starbase is armed with heavy solenite missile racks and weapon batteries, as well as hanger space for four squadrons of Vipers.

The support tenders were initially designed to replenished vessels in the field. Given the potential for ambushes by pirates, they were given a fair amount of close defence ability. In the end, multiple classes of the ship were produced

TF-F Fueler - when destroyed, automatically explodes
TF-T Troop Transport, which takes advantage of the classes bulky shape to cram troops, combat vehicles and additional shuttles into the cavernous cargo hold, Troops 4
TF-H - a hospital ship used to ferry the wounded back to bases or to act as large mobile hospitals. These ships had slightly better command and control facilities than their standard brethren as enemies liked to single them out for destruction early on in combat, especially full capacity ships. Command +1, Troops 2


HEPHAISTOS-class Forge Ship RAID 4 CFP
The onboard factories of the Forge Ships are always welcome to battle-worn fleets though these lightly-armed ships are little more than targets to an enemy. Forge Ships are carry raw supplies and the onboard factories to replenish a fleet no matter how fierce the campaign.

THE CYLON EMPIRE

First designed as robotic soldiers for the Colonials, the Cylons rebelled against their masters and fought a vicious war. Following the war, the Cylons vanished into obscurity. When they returned, it was destroy their creators.
The Cylons Fleet has a lot less variety in it than a Colonial Fleet--Baseships and Raiders. The Raiders are the main strike force of the fleet, and deal with scouting, patrolling, attack and defence. The Baseship is the mother ship of the fleet, large and slow, but carrying a massive amount of fighters and heavy firepower, it is more than an equal for a Battlestar.


EARLY RAIDER PATROL
The disk-shaped Raider had a crew of three. It is slow, but heavily armed. Deployed in standard flights of 6 fighters.

RAIDER WAVE PATROL
The newest design, these Raiders feature powerful KEW weaponry and the ability to launch 2 missiles as well supporting their own FTL. The sheer numbers of Raiders launched per Wave are their greatest strength.
Note, the Wave takes damage akin to a ship—it requires multiple hits to destroy the Wave. When the Wave is reduced to half strength, reduce all AD by half.

HADES-class Basestar WAR
The first true warships of the war, the Hades were the pinnacle of the Cylon fleet and follows a different design philosophy than Colonial Doctrine. While holding in excess of three hundred Raider fighters, they are slow and ponderous. However, their role is not limited to just fighter carrying--they were expected to take, hold and attack enemy ground and ships, and as such they are equipped with an offensive weaponry and anti-fighter defences of their own.

One of the more rarer models, the Scout ship adds more electronics to its sensor arrays, and usually the ship plays a support role in combat, creating confusion amongst enemy forces by it's ability to generate large amounts of ECM. It is not helpless either, having the normal amount of fighters and weapons.

The Cylons recognized a need for a powerful ship to carry important cargo and modified some Baseships to act as cargo carriers. Combining powerful weaponry with a vast cargo bay, these ships became very valuable for carrying important supplies and fuel to critical areas.

To conserve resources, the Cylons constructed the Lethe-class Halfship. It was literally half a Baseship--half the engine capacity, half the fighter bays, half the crew. Whilst available in some numbers, Lethes were generally delegated to rear end duties in non-hostile zones.

The earliest model of Basestar, the Styx-class were large and slow, but still carried numerous Raiders. The design was so successful, that the Hades Baseship was simply an outgrowth of the early one, albeit bigger and carrying more weapons and fighters.

A rare variant of the tanker, this model sacrifices most of its cargo carrying ability to be able to carry more fighters. Sometimes used as a long-range strike carry as the fuel carried allows for a much-extended range for the tanker and the Raiders carried. It is recognizable from the basic model in that the cargo section is much smaller and the shuttle bay much larger. It is always armed..

I'd keep them at 18" to reflect the effective range of targeting maybe rather than the actual distance they could fire

Have you seen the battlestars in BSG: The Plan yet? What PL do you think they shoud be? They seem to be the colonials' main battlestar.


I don't have cable or satellite--haven't for 8 years--so have not yet seen it.

Have to check Youtube or hope a friend taped it for me.
