Am I reading the BF SAS unit card right that only the riflemen get the underslung grenade launchers? The USMC recon leaders do, not sure why they would not have them.

I thought it was the guys with the rifles down across the chest that where the Corps and Lance Corps... Well not that it really matters as long as we are consistent.

in evo its the rifle men that get the underslung not the unit leaders, that was my point, that said i think they screwed up the composition of the british squad compared to real life.

i live in hope we get a few articles that correct the composition of the brit squads.

The British Army also uses the fireteam. An infantry section of eight men usually contains two fireteams (Charlie and Delta), each comprising an NCO (Corporal or Lance-Corporal) and three Privates. The NCO will carry an SA80 Rifle, with the privates carrying one SA80 with underslung grenade launcher, one LMG (FN Minimi) and one Light Support Weapon between them.

According to wiki again the minimi is replacing the LSW

(L108A1 [SAW]/L110A1 [Para]): the British Army equips each four-man fireteam (2 per section) with the current variant of the Minimi Para. The L110A1 has essentially replaced the LSW in the British Army as a light section support or fire support weapon and is now used in that role, as well as that of a light machine gun. The L110A1 is often fitted with a SUSAT (Sight Unit Small Arms Trilux) 4x optical sight.

Maybe what is needed is a rule to allow the minimi para to act in that role using the optical sight.... Although that would make the Brit infantry a load more expensive... giving it effectively 2 mg / sniper rifles.

The LMG will not replace the LSW, but will complement it and enhance the effectiveness of the LSW and all section weapons across the spectrum of Infantry operations.

With the introduction of the Light Machine Gun (LMG), the LSW will be used for longer range (600-800m), accurate, suppressive fire. It will become the sharpshooter system of the section to out-range any potential threat.

SA 80 A2 comprises the Individual Weapon (IW) and the Light Support Weapon (LSW). These are the British Army's standard combat weapons within the section. made by Heckler and koch, they fire NATO standard 5.56 x 45 mm ammunition. an infantry section consists of two four-man fire teams each consisting of IW(2), LSW(1) and LMG(1). One IW has the Underslung Grenade Launcher (UGL).
