Has/does anyone else work with their local gaming store to get them enrolled in the Bits & Mortar program? This is the partnership between some gaming publishers and gaming stores that lets you purchase the hard copy product locally and still receive the pdf version of the book.

I picked up Space Stations today and was looking forward to getting the pdf version. But my store said that it wasn't available through the program, and that it appeared that nothing had been added to the library in some time. So I was wondering if anyone else has had this occur to them?

I've been buying MgT books from Travelling Man, Newcastle. As you would expect from Bits and Mortar (BAM), I buy the book from the shop and they send off a message somewhere. By the time I get home, I usually have an e-mail waiting to tell me hopw to download the PDF.

There have been occasions where either I or Travelling Man forget to do the BAM thing. More recently (I think with Trillion Credit Squadron, TCS) Traveller they were unable to do the BAM thing. In situations like that, contact Matt from Mongoose ( msprange@mongoosepublishing.com ). As a courtesy, when e-mailing Matt about the BAM thing, I attached a graphic of TCS along with its receipt.

HTH :)

For anyone else who uses the Bits and Mortar program - Matt has said that Space Stations is now uploaded.

I don't hesitate in being critical of game companies when I think they could have done better on their products (and yeah, buying the products gives me the right to bitch). But I also have to say that I've always been pleased with the level of customer service MGT gives. And the fact that they have gone way out of their way on occasion to fix things.

YEah but AFAIK the book isn't in stores yet, so even if my FLGS was B&M involved I couldn't buy it and get the pdf

I got it in my local game store the day I posted that it wasn't available via Bits & Mortar.

So it is floating around the US. I don't know who my game store uses as a distributor though. I'm located in Dallas - though that shouldn't mean much as far as the mail goes.

If you can get your local store to prod Esdevium for it, that may speed things up.
