Big List of Official Spells

Damien

Mongoose
Sutek mentioned it might be useful to have a compendium on the boards here, listing the product they can be found in - and what style of sorcery they belong to. So why not. I only have the Core book, Aquilonia, and Road of Kings so far - but I'll start the list off. Everyone else with other books can post up their lists and I'll add it to this master list ASAP. Cool beans?

Isn't there a spell named "Fangs of the night" in Mesantia, too? There was a thread in the forum about it.

Yes, you´re right. It´s mentioned in adventure but was left out in the additional rulebook which I looked up.

Here´s the part of the discussion about it:

Nickbergquist said:
Hi All; Maximo contacted me with this question: he noticed Zuthelia had a spell "Fangs of the Night" in her repertoire that was missing from the second book; I am guessing it missed the cut, but this reference is still there. Anyway, the spell is as follows, for those who need it. Players please avert your eyes, lest you incur the furious wrath and anger of your GM:

Fangs of the Night
PP Cost: 3 points
Components: S, V
Casting Time: 1 minute
Range: touch
Targets: one target touched per use
Duration: instantaneous once released
Saving Throw: Fortitude negates
Prerequisites: Magical attack bonus 4+
Magic Attack Roll: Sets DC for target’s saving throws.

Some sorcerers find it within themselves to invoke a venomous bite, which will unleash a deadly poison in their target. The boldest and most feral of sorcerers find this tactic useful, and some sects make it a centrepiece to their rituals.

The sorcerer must have in his possession a creature that is known for its deadly bite, such as an asp or spider. The creature must be killed, eaten alive or dead as the spell is invoked in an ecstatic dance. Once done, the sorcerer is imbued with the essence of the creature’s venomous bite. This bite may be held and used at a later date, after which the spell must be recast.

If the sorcerer makes a successful touch attack against a target, then he has bitten his foe, which must make a Fortitude saving throw to resist the effects of the poison. If the saving throw is failed, the target takes 1d4 immediate Constitution damage, and must make an additional saving throw the following round to avoid taking additional 1d3 Constitution damage. The foe also takes 1d3 points of normal damage from the bite regardless of the saving throw.

Greetings
Marcel

Wow - that was quick. Thanks for contributing everyone.

So we don't know what school Fangs of the Night was intended for?

A little while back I wrote up a Word document listing the spells with prerequisites and books they come from. I emailed it to Raven.
It doesn't contain material from Messantia or S&P. I could post it and someone else can add, if yas like.

(At work right now, hehe)

I still have it- so if you lose it just let me know and I will e-maill it back to you.

Raven, emerging from a Internetless two weeks.....

Please post the master spell list (word file). I was considering doing this, but you beat me to it.

Any official word on what Spell School the Fangs of the Night falls under ? Nature ?

thanks,

Mad Dog

PS: more Oriental magic is needed....

Hi, guys from Mongoose hall!

Couldn't you mark this thread as "sticky", so it will be placed permanently at the top of this forum? It is a real good help for every GM and shouldn't be lost in a few days, when new threads come in...

I'm working on a spell list like these, too. Could someone tell me the prerequisites for Legions of the Dead (Signs & Portents #9)? And if anyone knows about additional spells in other S&P issues I'd appreciate if you would post the names, prerequisites, and issue numbers here.

Thanks. The MAB +10 prerequisite made me curious. Now I really hope Mongoose will release the S&P Conan articles in a book of its own.

I'd say - - give 'em more time to have an abundancy of articles. Then see if the guys at Mongoose would be willing to compile them all into a special edition of Signs & Portents available via RPGNow.com or DriveThruRPG.com.

IIRC, this specific article was available for free via SoC-program. For joining I just mailed a guy at Mongoose Hall - if you start a search "Sons of Cimmeria" on this forum, you surely will find the adress.
