The only issue I have with quoting the price from Mongrel is that they appear to be a small manufacturer selling direct, so there's no distributors and retailers taking their cut somewhere along the line. On the other hand, Mongoose need to add in enough money to the RRPs for everyone else their products pass through to make a profit too. I reckon Mongrel would need to set an RRP of about £2 per miniature if there were a supply chain involved.

I know it isn't what was asked, but "Find another quality 28mm miniature on sale in stores" would be a better comparison really. I know it doesn't make much difference to the end customer, but there's just no way a manufacturer could match those prices with at least two other businesses making a profit off the sale of each mini as well

I'm not trying to be picky here, just trying to get a fair comparison

Hi,

I know a lot of the wargame manufactures are small companies that sell directly to the public.

There are some like Foundary that do sell to shops but again there is no distributors and their RRP is £8.50 for 8 infantry figures.

Wizards of the cost do 7 pre-painted figures for £9. I know these are not as good figures and are collectable (Which I hate). They sold through distributors to shops. The price may be cheaper partly due because Wizards producing them in a much larger quantity than you will be doing.

I used to work in a wargames shop a few years back and we stocked figures from various manufactures, but again these were purchased directly from the manufactures.

It has always seem odd to me that wargame figures are always a lot cheaper the Sci-Fi/ Fantasy figures.

I have no problem with everyone in the sales chain making money.

I know Games Workshop have always over priced there figures and they still increase the price every year.

You figures are also a lot better then GW.

Even at £2 a figure the box sets would be £20 and I would have thought people would still make some money. Thats what you own metal figures work out at. Looking at you SST range.

When I first found out about BF EVO, I was looking at collecting all four sides. By setting the figure sets at £20 I would have thought you have a better chance of selling more.

I was also looking for 1/48 moderns recently (though Im still dreaming about a 1/35 skimrish system)
I dindt find many modern minis with the usual modeling manufaturers but these guys have a nice selection:

There is also some nice WW2 figures, if you want some WW2 Zombies for a change.

I can not seen to find chinese figures and tanks in 1/48th scale.

From xeoran's post above it looks like they may be £20 after all, and that the £25 figure was a placeholder as the product pages weren't supposed to be seen by the public yet No guarantees until they're listed officially on the site (as opposed to being available only if you know where to look) of course

No worries, Matt aint mad (well he wasnt on Frothers). That said the £20 is somethign only mentioned on Frothers so you'd have to ask Matt again on here to check. Stuff may have changed.
