Best way to keep track of unit members...????

Maybe honor the soldiers KIA in action. At least for the USMC and Brits. (dont mean to sound sick or anything, just to honor those that paid the ultimate price) :?

I actually thought about this. There are a couple of sites that list the US servicemen KIA. It turned out to be too much work for me to actually do more than think about it though...

this is what they look like on PLA

Platoon, Squad, Fireteam

I thought to put the rank and squad (number or letter?) to my USMC models. If weapons seem to be a problem then I will somehow mark M-203 and SAW gunners as well. M-203 will probably get /_ mark and SAW will get -:- mark. It's a bit hard to make those marks using just ASCII codes but that's more or less how those will look. But first I will have to break the marines out of their boxes...

Well I lavelled the underside of my 4 squads of EFTF Brit Inf today, in the style of the Wave 2 labels, hand written though.

Only made 3 mistakes and I corrected those

I've begun mounting mini barcodes on the rims of the bases of each mini, and backside of vehicles. A scanner connected to my handheld device reads the barcodes and tells me which character is which, and how they have fared for me in previous engagements.

Because a mini with bad mojo can throw off your whole game...

bit like my system of giving each a name middle name and surname and background history and learning it, there is no better feeling thn knowing every soldier by name, you should see all the grave stones in my back garden now !!!!

I knew a sergeant who once made his goof-troop (CONSTANT screw-up) line up a 'squad' of traffic cones, hold formations with them. And know everything about his 'troops' when it came time for inspection...

I was planning on going for a similar system as Byram had mentioned, though I think I'll be including the rank.
Pics tomorrow if I finish the terrain first.

ive done this

Okay, inspired by Mr. Evil, I bought some Avery 3/4" labels, downloaded a MS Word template from their website, and created these:

my only complaint is youll have to pic the models up on the table, what if you need to find out whos in what squad, when you have two or more fire teams right next to each other? you have to pic up the model which may change the original squad configuration. im just saying, not to rip or trash your idea, they do look good though :D

I can just tip the figure forward or to one side while keeping the edge of the base on the table. I don't actually have to pick the figure up to be able to see the label.

scotty you managed to do only what i could ahve dreamed of doing, the sheets avaialable in the uk are about A6 if that so wont go in my printer :( as for the program you mentioned i didnt evan know that existed in windows, if i ever manage to do it i will do the same.
