Barrett M107

Paladin

Mongoose
The new SAS have the M109, but this is a video showing the nastiness of this weapon. I still say it needs a -2 or at least a -1 to armor on Size 1 models.

Umm....this video doesn't talk about the XM109, Paladin....

Additionally, you can mount the .50 Cal on a tripod, so you're not required to keep it on a vehicle or a turret....

Check out this thread for large caliber sniper goodness: http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=25214&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=show+snipers

"Its going to hurt "

Nor does my thread.

The Barrett M109 is largely the same as the M107 shown except it's stronger and nastier at shorter range.

"Initial tests indicated in excess of 1 ½ inch penetration of armor at 500 meters."

Scratch that. For some reason I had XM307 on my mind when I read yours. My humblest apologies sir.

well theyre entirely different calibers for starters.... just because they look similar doesnt mean they are the same weapon ;)
Sigh. I knowthe bullet is half the size, but it's not going for range. My point is the 109 is based on the same technology and meant to be even nastier at short range via armor piercing ammo.

the MX-109's 25mm ammunition has been judged to be 2.5 times more effective at destroying targets than a .50 caliber armor-piercing round. It is expected that this ammunition can penetrate nearly 40mm (an inch and a half) of armor plating at 500 meters, or blast open doors from around the corner.

That will rip through body armor like tin foil.
