Babylon 5 2nd Ed still under production?

Hi All,

I'm just curious to see what is happening with Babylon 5 and new material. I have enjoyed everything to date and I am wondering what is happening with the new books that all seemed to have disappeared?

Also is there any issues with Mongoose going 4th edition, do they have to release a new version of B5 based on the 4th ed ruleset?

Just a few questions as I still have B5 on my pre-order at my local game store hoping they start coming again :-)

Hi there,

The Lurker's Guide to Gaim is in editing at the moment, and there are a number of other titles planned - however, as always, the enemy is time!

Not according to Rev Dexter in "The Rock Cried Out No Hiding Place"

Rev. Dexter: Every day, here and at home, we are warned about the enemy. But who is the enemy? Is it the alien? Well, we are all alien to one another. Is it the one who believes differently than we do? No, oh no, my friends. The enemy is fear. The enemy is ignorance. The enemy is the one who tells you that you must hate that which is different. Because, in the end, that hate will turn on you. And that same hate will destroy you.

Can I just use this opertunity to request a First Ones book to cover those races not in Darkness and Light. I know that some people don't want to see stats for these races due to 'First One Hunting', but background alone makes it worth a look.

I would like to second another First One heavy book. I'd like to see more background on the other First Ones and their history. I know we got something of that in Thirdspace and a few other books but I would like to see a more intensive one plus mention of things like the Kirishiac War.

In the same line, a book on the chronology of the galaxy would be great.

Start with Lorien and the speakers, to the shadows, the other first ones, the middle born, the minbari, centauri empire, dilgar war, the series, the telepath war, crusade, all the way to the humans going to the Vorlon home world.

It could be mostly background info with maybe a few stats here and there.

Having one big story of the universe would be a huge help!

Seconded on a timeline ... I'd possibly even vote for just making it background information, with possibly references to other published books for stats and further information. Almost an index of what Mongoose have published for Babylon 5 fit in to the timeline of the B5 universe.

I can't help noticing that the B5 Forum is slipping down in its placement in the Forum menu. Does this reflect game prioritisation for Mongoose, I wonder?
How long will it be before B5 goes in to the Other Roleplaying Games section?

More and more time is passing since B5 was well known, and it doesn't look like anything is going to happen to revive it. The games are excellent, but the property just doesn't have much visibility.

What we need is a feature film, but I'm betting that WB isn't going to be running out to fund one of those in the near future.

Unfortunately, this is true - JMS recently announced the closure of any possibility of new projects (such as Lost Tales II or novels), aside from the possibility of a feature film which, given the nature of such things, we won't be holding our breath for.

This means that, aside from the scripts books (which are licensed from the writers, not B5 itself), we are the only producer of B5 material anywhere. Kinda lonely :)

Humans and writers wrapped in two million, five hundred thousand tons of spinning roundabouts, all alone in the night.

So, what happened to "The Lurker's Guide to Gaim?"

In the imminently to be released chronology, the Babylon Project RPG is listed as a source of data, but neither of the Mongoose B5 RPGs are, mind you neither are ACTA or B5W.

Just chipping in the info.

It also includes the non-canon novels and comics.

Indeed, here's the list, the stuff I've italicised is stuff I either don't have, or I'm not 100 % sure if I have or not.
