Availability of the Undercity gang box set?

Mongoose
I can't seem to find it in any UK shops at all. Every one of them I've had to email for availability, but received no reply. I'm hoping this is only due to the Christmas build-up, though. Are they still being produced? Or are UK stockists simply not ordering them in due to a lack of demand?

Thanks, ordered them. The order I was looking to place had a number of other blisters and packs included, but they were relatively expensive on that site (£9.99 for the street gang box: thats ABOVE rrp!), so I'll get those from another shop. Thanks alot!

Gyah! Out of stock, like everywhere else :(

I've ordered it direct from Mongoose.... So now we'll see if it's still in print!

Well, I ordered the entire GOMC1 product line - I got a great deal.
I was even lucky enough to get the Paranoia robots box set before they where pulled.

That being said, I still have not received them - they where shipped today, even though the order was placed last month (the tracking number tells me when they where shipped).

I am also told that I am back ordered on the two boxes of GOMC1 and the plastic street gang box.

So, given that the main game is not in stock in the US market leads me to believe that this game is not being considered to be around for a long time.

Even Matt's comments in the state of the mongoose makes me think that this game is going to be shelved and a new style of game will be released to replace it.

Oh well, at least I have gotten the complete game and enough mini's to cover having a few friends play at the same time.

Btw, does anyone know what buildings come with the GOMC1 core box set? All I can find for details happen to be the picture of the game on the site.

best regards

Dalton

Frankly, they're a bit rubbish. I think there are two shops, a ruin and some barriers. I never even bothered cutting them out. I've ordered some more EM4 miniatures to use as Undercity Troggies while I wait on Mongoose sending me my undercity box.

Seriously though, it seems that recently, I've been relying on Mongoose purely for the GoMC1 rules, whilst obtaining my figures from somewhere else. I love the Mongoose figures, and I have quite a few sets of judges, and two boxes of the plastic gangs, as well as a few blisters of specialists but all of these are getting harder and harder to find...

I love the campaign orientated style of play, and the game mechanics especially. I love the fact that it's set in the Judge Dredd universe, even if the Judges don't figure all that much in the grand scheme of things. And despite their failings and unavailability, I love the figures! I personally would not mind at all if there was some kind of major change in focus for their next Judge Dredd miniatures game or not, but I wish they'd do it sooner rather than later. Having been a lifelong GW Blood Bowl fan and seen that game shoved off into the Specialist Games area of GW (which means no more support, ever), I'd hate to see miniature gaming in the Judge Dredd universe drop completely out of sight, forever. I understand that WWII and "real" world combat games sell better, but almost two whole years without a single new release for any kind of JD miniature game seems to me like it's taken a major backseat for the foreseeable future.

Worth the wait?
I have one, love the minis. Sure, they aren't the best minis ever released, but they are very 'comic' styled which is what I like.

I absolutely hate the Werewolf, I did before I even ordered the set, but the rest of the minis are perfect. I'm using a BB werewolf for now as a stand-in for the Mongoose one... I'll paint it up and see if I still feel the same way about it.

Hmm. Laying down it looks like roadkill ;).
It is a little flat, I'd probably use the Heresy Werewolf instead. :)

Well, at least with the addition of the Undercity gang werewolf, I have enough Were's for a starting gang of five werewolves... Anybody tried this yet? Could be interesting as a scenario battle. Here are the were models I have currently:

Gotta love those early 80's Games Workshop Blood Bowl minis!

Yeah I certainly do.

I wouldn't ever take a force like that of werewolves (not again at least), I tried it once and it just pissed everyone off so much they wouldn't play against it. I agreed it was a bit too far. If not for that reason, if you are ever put up against judges, you are screwed! :P

I really want to do another GOMC1 campaign. I always bog myself down far too much as I have to support the majority of players with extra gangers etc and background, so I end up giving up.

Maybe next time, warn people about it, ask them to buy forces if they want to join in etc...
