Authentic shaped Warrior Bugs?

Mongoose
When will Mongoose introduce more accurate, authentic shaped Warrior Bugs? :?:

Please compare the Mongoose Bugs...

...to the Bugs in the movie:

So what's wrong with our Mongoose Warrior Bugs:

  • The lower mandible of the Mongoose Bug has TWO fangs, this is not correct compared to the movie! :oops:
  • The front and hind legs of the Mongoose Bugs are of the same size, this is also not correct. In the movie the hind legs of the Warrior Bugs are much bigger, than the front legs.
What about a new, authentic design for the Warrior Bugs, especially for SST Evo? :wink:

FedNet

There are many Warrior bug designs. The ones from the TV Show, the ones from the Movies, the ones from the Anime, and of course the book. Which is it?

There are also a lot of different ones in the movie..... millions of the buggers.
Please check each against the current models then get back to us

:)

@Hiromoon:

Bingo! :D The two fangs are from the animated television series:

But this animated Warrior Bug version has also bigger hind legs:

I suppose, it's much cheaper for Mongoose to produce only one size of legs. :wink: 10 years ago, Galoob did the same thing.

@JoseDominguez

Please check each against the current models
Maybe difficult to check some of them... :wink:

If retaining the current look and using existing molds will keep costs down why change?

Given that you need 40+ warriors for army selection and variety, keeping per fig costs low should be a consideration.

Regards

Its also stops us from having to pay more for a tweak on the miniatures that very few people want,

@Mage
Those things were kind of cool. Just toys or a proper minis game?
Galoob SST things were sold as toys, the Plasma Bugs e.g. are firing spring loaded missiles. :lol: But some use them for gaming.
"The Warrior Bugs (and Hopper Bugs) in Galoob's Action Fleet 'Battle Packs' are a good size for 25 mm games (...) Buying the Galoob Bugs can be difficult - and expensive - now, as they are long out of production. (...) If your nephew's got some - make him an offer he can't refuse! Because, for a REAL Starship Troopers game, you need LOTS of bugs!"

That's quite alright.
In the current Warrior Bug Sprue you have 10 (or 12?) legs for 2 Bugs and you can mount them wherever you want.
It causes variety. If you had just 5 forward legs and 5 Backward legs for 2 Bugs they would inevitable appear more static and not nearly as chaotic as now.

If you don't know what I mean buy a pack of Guard Bugs and you'll see.

So I think everything is alright. I like the Bugs how they look by now.

Pissed off jellyfish.

Basically, bulbous head with lower tentacles. They project a beam of energy from an opening on their head.

The bugs are pink. No joke.

If you e-mail the guy who runs the site above about UnS, he is willing to sell DVD copies of it for $20. IMO it's well worth it.

Yeah and the bugs in the book are like alien spiders with lasers! Where are our proper warrior bugs lol. :D

Sorry if it is hard to take you seriously but I could not even see the diference until you pointed it out. I have to agree with Galatea that the curent models give a great amount of chaos when you put 40 of them on the table. There are legs and mandibles everywhere! I think making them less variable would be sad. Besides like I said I have already painted 40 of them and don't want to have to get 40 more just because they change the sculpt like I might have to do with my Skinnies.
