Armageddon Fixes - STAT SUGGESTIONS ONLY

Take a look at an actual squid or cuttlefish swimming. When they 'jet' away from a predator, they actually do swim backwards, pulling their tentacles together. In normal swinmming they are very manoeuverable and able to 'hover' in place. There is also no doubt about where the head of the animal is. So there is a natural precedent for this method of locomotion.

Double the damage and crew, and make it 1/90 turns instead of 2/45.
 
I like the damage and crew fix better than the dice. Making it survivable is more important than dishing out damage, I think.
 
I dunno, I'm going off the old B5Wars Kutai personally which flew like a brick but was built like one too and just basically flew forwards slowly blasting away with ALOT of matter cannons as I recall.

Firstly because it's not 12/3, it's 15/3 and secondly, you have to have a damage score less than your crew score for the self-repair trait to really mean anything.

Ooops, my bad, I think I was looking at the old tournament version.

I agree with you in principle that the crew level should be higher than the damage level to get full effectiveness out of Self-Repair, however, 10 is too low.

One other fact often missed about Self Repair is the +1 to your roll for repairing criticals.

Make the Kutai more like Olympus, with Big Turreted Matter Cannon, maybe give it some longrange firepower, more hits ,slow it down, increase the range on twl weapons. Cent don't need another fast attack ship specialy with already having the Vorchan.

I think the issue is that the Omega is heavily built around the spinning section... If that's no longer needed...

I was thinking that too. The Omega is basically a Nova hull with a rotating section, different weapons and better tech.

No offence to those screaming for it to be dropped to War level again but that band is filled by much weaker ships now with the exception of the Sharlin, Octurion and Bin'Tak, you'd have to loose lots of stats to fit in this band. But with the new style it just screams out for big hitter gunship.

This ship with its stand off ability and self repair to fix those little blows that you get when they cant get their main guns on you the nemesis calls out to be a command and control ship, so make it one.

These three ships are far too big a hitter above their PL level when compared to the ships on offer to other races. Let them keep their guns but reduce their damage in line with the other races best ships of that PL level with adjustments for racial traits.
 
On the Tertius I was thinking what if we leave the armament the way it is, drop the crew score to be equivalent to the Primus, and then up the crew/damage thresholds so that the Tertius becomes crippled/skeleton crewed faster than a Primus or Secondus would(representing all that nasty weaponry being more easily overloaded by battle damage than a Primus or Secondus). Turn it into a high risk/high reward ship. Your ship makes nasty booms but is prone to going boom sooner than a lot of battle ships.

War Level ships tend to be a bad choice compared to two battle ships as it is. Even the best War ships tend to suffer from this. It's probably better to upgrade the weaker War ships than downgrade the stronger ones as downgrading the stronger ones will emphasise the "Two Battle are better than one War" problem even more.

And yeah, drop the Warlock down to War level. It doesn't feel right as an Armageddon level ship. It'll probably need stat tweaks during the drop but it shouldn't be an Armageddon level ship.
