Are the EFTF getting stuffed?

The EFTF has the best anti-tank/vehicle army on the field, IMHO. I've yet to lose a Challenger and have always come out ahead in terms of cost vs. points killed for the unit. I dropped 600+ pts of the enemy with one during a game just last night. I'll take a Challenger over equal points in the existing anti-tank infantry squads any day of the week.

AA will be interesting to see. If tank machine guns are worth a hoot against helos then they will probably hold their own.

I can understand you wanting dedicated AT and AA teams as they exist today and they won't be replaced within 15 years as such. I can understand asking the question about what Europeans will be getting in terms of AT and AA but to question if we're getting "stuffed" without the air rules or the stats for the confirmed units is futile.
Agreed.

I have yet to fight a battle without loosing at least 1 Challie when I have fielded more than 1. In the 1 battle I took a single 1 it got reduced to 1 hit when my PLA opponent threw the towel in when he lost his last type 99, he still had an RPG on the field as well.

It all really depends on if you hide in cover the entire game, or do the Challie command dance to avoid them getting a shot at you. If they can shoot you out of cover then its possible to be 1 shot killed which has happened to me a number of times.

I tend to be a cautious player and not rush gung ho at the enemy, but I won't hide in cover the entire game either waiting for them to come to me.

That's sensible and I think it sounds like you play a tactically sound game. I'm wondering if there will be different flight styles and rules. For example, if a cobra needs to hover before firing its Hellfire missiles, it's a sitting duck for whatever else is on the field. Also, helos are very vulnerable in urban combat situations because infantry and armour can hide effectively from them.

I just had a thought Cordas, invest in some AT-43 cargo containers, they can actually hold a warrior and maybe challys inside them. Hit and run tactics from a garage. I'd like to see a Cobra get them then!

Oh wait... there is that whle blowing up buildings thing too. damn.

 I like your thinking, I have been tempted by those carog containers a few times, but I am skint and carry on thinking a bit of plasticard and I could make dozens of them for what they are asking for 2..... and then I remember what a lazy git I am and know I would never get round to making them..... I carry on hoping my mate will instead....

It's true, the price is insane for only two of them. Maybe you could get dsfrank to make em for you. I'm pretty lazy like that too and the price is a little off putting. Maybe shoe boxes cut up to be garages might be on the cards or how about an 00 tunnel, two entries, two exits and you're in a mountain *not* a building ... hang on I'm going to get out my railway stuff.
*runs off and rummages in the back ground comes back*
Yep, challies fit  where's that Cobra people have been threatening me with? I'll show them.

Portable challie armour.... I like the idea, but I think some of my opponents would have valid reason to kick me if I carried arrond a railway tunnel to deploy with my challie....

Sure they mightn't like it but hey, terrain is terrain, it's not your fault that part of the terrain happens to be a particularly useful piece of terrain that can protect a whole lot of infantry and all those tanks and IFVs  So you take it everywhere with you... you're just bringing some more detail to the field

used to game V a guy who had purpose built terrain for his orks, ie all the buildings walls had gaps exactly where his guns where and designed to hide his vehicle from all angles. His eldar playing friends hd loads of water features for his terrain to stop orks moving around well, the lakes had islands in the middle with bunkers, so only eldar could get to them and use them. this is going back 10 years ago i guese, but still makes me smile.

i would like to see the brits get more equipment and break away from the EFTF please.

lol its the tory's that have planned to give our defence spending to europe to organise on our behalf !!!!!

UK independance from europe please, im fighting EFTF with my brits, this is now officialy civil war.

Has a friend who does the same, if you game round his he would insist on setting up the terrain and funnily enough it was always ideal to his dark eldar (very little terrain apart from a feature where raiders could hide behind) unless he was facing tau in which case there would be a long narrow wood dividing the board to stop their long range weaponry...

That's unbelievable! The one that I've seen and been annoyed by is the daemonhunter army airstrike. You could actually use an airstrike on a particular terrain feature like a road or a river Now imagine your opponent acutally was fighting you in a city where said road is along the whole board and features multiple branches.... or you're playing over a swamp....not cool at all.

I'm not sure that orks could actually do that, that's not very orky at all. Besides who has actually ever lost a battle to ork fire? Anyone? Anyone?

Yes it is pretty cheap to do. If the battlefield actually has that sort of terrain on it I'd say use it but if it's something that you deliberately do then it's an issue. I was of course joking.

British Secession! YESS! The revolution has begun!!!

Wait until the Kingdom of Northumbria gets reborn and the south gets cut off and skuttled.

skuttled is when you scuttle something, but put the boot in as well to make sure no one gets off.

The Kingdom of Northumbria only allows Geordies in it!

Well actually its everytrhing north of the humber (that ain't scotland), so we will keep york to rip off the american tourists, a few decent breweries, the lake district (not sure why but its pretty enough for not being Northumberland) and the macums to kick around :)

Sunderlanders?

Northumbria used to own the southern part of scotland

Shhh we ain't going to tell them that until the tanks are ready to roll. and yes *SPIT* Macums come from scumderland.

Why not just claim everything north of the greater thames area... except for Wales of course. I want to see the United Socialist Republic of Wales established!
