Any noise on potential extensive rewrites on later books?

I really love what was done with Book 1 with the escape from the Monastery, was curious if there's rumormill of any other extensive rewrites being done on later books in the series?

Hey, even if there isn't, it'd be a little bit of fun to fantasize about what we'd like to see extended, eh?

New material?

Each Lone Wolf book after #1 gets a bonus adventure.
Lone Wolf #28 gets 350 sections.
Books 29 -32 are relased.
Agarashi and Lencial Triologies released. (soon I Hope)

As for game book changes, they have been kept very small. The section numbering remains intact in all books except #1. Only if you have the US abridged Grand Master series will you notice a significant addition to the material.

In book 5 the illustration doesn't show a darklord summoning (at least) fifty four cryptspawn. Now it's a single thing so I imagine book 5's got a few small changes too :).

I was wondering whether there might be any changes to balance issues, such as unfairly high stats on a couple of enemies, or tweaks to the range of instant death rolls. Or perhaps a very minor change to the combat with Zakhan Kimar allowing the dagger of vashna to be used even when you have the sommerswerd.

Also - in the grandmaster series clarifying which bonuses stack and over-ride (i.e. weapon mastery, armour bonuses etc). As well as that the fact that the list of special items you can carry over from book to book are sometimes inconsistent.

Any thoughts?

SPOILER (Highlight to read)
Dagger of Vashna and Helshezag are destroyed in book 16 so that's why they couldn't be carried from 17 on. Silver Bracers and Korlinium Scabbard missing from list for books 14-16.

Would love Kimah and Chaos Master to be more balanced, I think book 17 had some really hard fights too. In the GM series if I had Kai Alchemy and doing badly I used to cast Brotherhood spells Vigour for +3CS (-3EP not usable if EP = 10 or less) and, if the text stated crossing a river, Mend for +5 EP. This is a bit of cheating though and it didn't feel right to 'Mend' my Kai Weapon after lossing CS bonus when hitting Claw of Naar (Bk 27). I hope in future books it gets repaired. I certainly love all the equipment you can find and use and hope plenty more is coming. It would be nice to complete the circle if Lone Wolf re-makes the Kai Crystals like the ones from extended Flight from the Dark, perhaps he can create new effects such as hallucinations from Calacena or a mini Shadow gate to teleport baddies. Kai Alchemy always said that he would be able to make new magic items but never did - the GM weapons came from Kai Weaponcraft. Making the Jar of Volko Berries and Crystal Star Pendant more useful would be brilliant too but unlikely as Lone Wolf stops adventuring at book 20 which has aready been done.

The end of bk 13 is tough too. Section 182 has 40% instant death at the bridge (0-3 random no.), if you have Grand Huntmastery and Assimilance it is 'only' 10%.

For the Claw of Naar I always used one of the weapons found in Bor, otherwise it is a big penalty to have for your Kai Weapon!

Yes I did that too - which isn't cheating because it says you can use it as an alternative to your existing Kai Weapon. Using Sunderer is rather similar to Peter Jackson's Fellowship of the Ring where Gimli the Dwarf uses his battle axe on the One Ring - which destroys his axe - I'm pretty sure that wasn't in the LOTR books. I wonder if Peter got some of his inspiration from Lone Wolf...? (I always think the Helghast section in Fire on the Water is similar to the Black Riders, so maybe Joe got inspiration from Tolkien too).

Anyway it would be nice to get whichever weapon fixed - and if we do meet such a person they might give Grand Master some cool new weapons and equipment too...

Bah, next you'll be talking some madness about Aragorn never meeting Frodo and letting him go with the ring after Boromir is killed,or Sauraman never taking a face plunge from Isengard!

Tom Bombawho?

I think the new FFTD was fantastic, albeit I prefer Brian Williams artwork than the new guys...thou I do appreciate there have been some fantastic illustrations in the new books..
...to rewrite classics canbe like meddling with the old gold...but I think say even 50 extra new entries will enrichen the storyline and gives us more time in Magnamund and being LoneWolf...

..I love reading the books again; the bonus adventures dont do it for me as much as the original story for some reason but at least there's extra material for us.
...main thing is LoneWolf is back, bigger, sexier and better looking than ever :)

i don"t take care about them

i am really sad there is no more extended versions like at book number 1

specially book 3 have much room for expansion

Lone Wolf #28 gets 350 sections.

we have to wait to many years till mongoose will print them

You may be surprised. However, it is worth bearing in mind that each book is not simply being reprinted - it takes time to write the extra adventures, collate all the artwork. . . and it takes time for Joe to go through everything!
