An Excellent Variant....

I couldn't figure out what your thread title meant until I watched the vid and then I remembered; "Oh yeah, that's that daffy Brit automotive show they've shown on the Discovery Channel once." Then I had a great laugh. Thanks for sharing.

I was relaibly informed yesterday that Top Gear has an audience in excess of 350 million worldwide now and is apparently very big in Holland!)

We've finally got it here in Australia too. Love the show. Clarkson's a riot and it's always worth a look.

Ah Jeremy Clarkson, what other man would when challeged to change the passenger side door of a van in the fastest time possible, would do so by borrowing one of the other's vans and using it to knock the door off. Followed by duck-taping the new door to the side of the van having destroyed the hinges.

He was of course challenged on the fact that it didn't really count as a door anymore as you'd couldn't open it...

And it fell off during one of the later challenges... But when writing a newspaper add for the van he managed to put a positive spin on it by saying the van was "well ventilated".

Riot? I'd be inclined to replace the R with an I and a D, but that's just me...

As good as the BF2 version is the original version is better:

For those who havent seen it heres a clip from another of the better 'Top Gear Challenges' where they tried to build a space shuttle out of a Robin Reliant....

The Top Gear Challenge thing gets more silly every season. Not too long ago it was a stuffy rather serious motoring program watched only by vintage car enthusiasts and people looking for sensible cars

Now they blow things up and only show super cars, or try to kill presenters

I love it :D

Don't forget the hilarious pro-conservative political commentary and the classic Clarkson "Why I'm so good" attitude!

To be honest I don't think JCs political commentary is well developed enough to be described as "conservative" with a big or small c. Whoever was in power he would be p*ssed off with them because they don't allow him to put machine guns on his car or drive at 200mph or whatever

Look at his attitude to the US - he hates anything they do, except he loves Ford GTs

Remember, whatever else, he gave us Paddington Bear

How about pro-britain conservativism. We're not talking about American conservativism. Although let's not get into a debate about the nature of conservatism and what it means for each country. He loves having a dig at anyone...at least we can call that self-righteous right?
