I'm looking for the range/reach of close quarters weapons, but not seeing it. You know, because I assume a lance has a longer reach than say a dagger. Anyone know where this is?
While I cannot answer that question I can say Reach is not modeled in MRQ.
Though be sure to read weapon descriptions, as important information is sometimes placed there (such as attack/parry modifiers, whether Damage Modifier applies for a missle weapon, and charge damage - which is under the lance description). Many of these weapon specific rules do not get footnotes in the equipment tables.

I see that, but I read in the combat example that a character was attacking with a flail 2m away and yet it said nothing about this in the weapon description.
Would I be correct in assuming adjacent is considered 1 m away, and most attacks can only reach that far? I might have to put in some reach rules...
Well then it is settled - you are not blind. That is great news.
I would assume one meter is the standard reach as it is the standard unit of measurement in the game. Reach rules would be welcome - perhaps something official is forthcoming in the Game Masters Handbook or Advanced Combat (I'm not sure if the latter is officially announced or an 'Amazon Leak').
Well IMHO a one Meter 'grid' is a bit less clear cut than the 5 foot grid used by some other games to remain unamed. I'm not sure if you are intending for some weapons to not be able to strike adjacent 'squares'.
I would draw a distinction between long and short spears. All of the weapons you mention should be able to strike adjacent foes as well as two meter foes. Maybe reach should be defined as 1-2 meters or 2-3 meters for a long spear (meaning it can attack targets at 2 or 3 meters but not at one meter). The Free attack for moving into range would be taken at maximum reach.
In man to man combat, reach can propably be ignored, unless you also want to cover the negative effects of it (I never really liked how RQ3 handled. Stormbringer works pretty well though)

I was thinking along those lines myself, especially since mounted rules seem to make it clear that a long spear/lance is the longest basic weapon in the game.
I'll probably let myself and my player get used to the basic rules first, and then if we feel like we're lacking tactical options, we'll throw in reach.
Loz upthread mentions there are optional reach rules in there.
(He's the author of it in case you didn't know - I realise you are a relatively new poster here. The "Mongoose" in front of his name is silent  ).
