Alternative Deepnight Revelation secondary ships

Emperor Mongoose
Those of you who have participated in the Deepnight Revelation kickstarter might know me as the guy who makes editing and editorial remarks long enough to require two posts on this and other Mongoose kickstarters. I've certainly had some strong opinions on the ship designs presented therein, including the titular ship.

But on my own "practice run" (or solo campaign, whatever you want to call it) of the campaign, or at least the fist several months of it, which barely crosses the Imperial border, I've noticed some operational issues, beyond my rant about not enough fuel processors on the big ship to keep up the pace.

This involves the secondary vessels, which in this campaign includes eight 200-ton scouts, 16 60-ton pinnaces and 20 20-ton utility boats. I don't care for them. I'm sure they could work, but I built my own.

I've posted some scout replacements in my blog. Since there are a couple of player hints in them (one spelled and numbered out, the other a little less so) I've decided to just post it on the blog and not do a complete post here. So If you just want the ships and not the commentary, you could grab the images and run. Or just ignore the post entirely.

I'll do the smallcraft next.

I also did some vehicle designs, because I thought there was too much emphasis on wheeled vehicles when terrain is an issue (its the wilderness folks!) so I designed a bunch of grav vehicles to replace many of the smaller wheeled vehicles.
And I certainly didn't care for the weapons selection. Revolvers? Come on. Lasers for everyone, especially the untrained because there's no recoil and you don't need to manufacture more ammo, plus, Entity.
Not sure if I'll put any of that in the blog. Certainly not today.

Now don't get me wrong, I really love the Deepnight Revelation campaign setting. Great story, lots of opportunities to go off and get in trouble. I just would do it my way...
(and that's the sort of troublesome thinking that gets me into things like redoing The Beyond- but it's also in my opinion why I still enjoy Traveller 40 years later. Its one of the few RPGs (along with D&D) where you can really make the setting your own without having to twist the rules. Unless you want to.)

Eagle class modular cutter? Is that a nod to Space 1999?
