Can you fire on a ship that is within an asteroid field?

Revised Ed. page 22 states the following:
"A ship within an asteroid field cannot target ships outside".
"You cannot target a ship if it cannot target you because of stellar debris".
Just seeking confirmation of the obvious i guess.

Only if you are in it too. Likewise, you can't target ships through an asteroid field regardless of the position of any asteroid counters or models.
