A bit more info on my Super-Race

Here's a bit more info on my Super-Race, this time about their diplomats, their ships and their escorts

A Diplomatic Ship masses at least 129,900 tons per point of Social Scale of the Diplomat that uses it the most, they have at least 6 escort ships per point of Social Scale of the Diplomat that uses it the most, these ships each individually mass at least 600 tons per point of Social Scale of the Diplomat that uses it the most and in total mass at least 6,000 tons per point of Social Scale of the Diplomat that uses it the most and with all their diplomats having A Social Scale of at least 10 that means their Diplomatic ships each mass at least 1,299,000 tons and they each have at least 60 escort ships that individually mass at least 6,000 tons and with a total of at least 600,000 tons

That's.....kind of random.

A Diplomatic Ship masses at least 129,900 tons per point of Social Scale of the Diplomat that uses it the most

I get the broad idea of "more important = bigger ship", but...

~ What happens if you're demoted? Do you get a bit sliced off your ship?
~ Are these ships assigned to a given diplomat? After all, "uses it the most" may not line up with "most important user"
~ What is the ship? Aside from interstellar genitalia-waving contests, what does a diplomat require a megaDton starship for? Is it a warship? A conference centre? A crisis management centre/hospital? A mobile palace? A mobile university?
~ Why vary the tonnage of the escort classes? Again, I understand "more important = more escorts" but why not simply assign more warships of a given 'diplomatic security service' class? Is it not logical for them to field a given 'best' ship (at any one time) and issue smaller or larger squadrons of it to whoever needs it?

Basically, how the society actually functions is a lot more engaging than a string of large numbers.
