2nd Ed Ship record sheets?

Mine are done but since I don't have the released copy of the fleet book, they are using the final playtest stats. I'm waiting to check the stats against what is actually released before making the 2nd ed sheets public.

might be polite for the ship record sheet providers to wait a couple of weeks (much as i am doing with vassal) as if everyone has free access to ship records what need is there to buy the fleet books?

well, their different things, i'd want to own both and fleet books are still nesascary for special rules, options, initative and refit/campaign action tables, everyone i no that owns a SFOS/Arm/1e uses the sheets aswell, their an "aswell as" not a "instead of"

IMHO

Let's not kid ourselves, noone whos going to buy the fleet book is not going to do so because theres SC sheets out and noone whos going to try and play without the fleet books is going to rush out and buy them just because they cant wait a few weeks for stats, and besides the ship sheets dont tell you all the stuff in the fleet books such as special rules etc of which Im sure there are some still!

Indeed; if someone is determined to play without buying the fleet book, then they will photocopy their friend's book or copy their friend's PDF or whatever. The presence of stat sheets online woud have minimal, if any, impact on sales... whilst increasing the ease of play for many... maybe even increasing sales because people see there are nice record sheets to make bookkeeping easy so are more likely to get into the game :)

I have a friend who intends to buy the rule book, but then wants to borrow my fleet book to copy the stats for his particular fleet.

I have to say Burger, I find your ship records and the fleet builder incredibly useful, especially as it keeps a running points total and automatically breaks down points for the optimum advantage.

But however useful it, and similar others are, it would in no way stop me buying the rule or fleet book, infact in woul just wet the appetite even more

I'm in the "I'll buy it anyways" bandwagon. Free stuff is nice, but having the photos and little history texts and so on is better.

I have my summary pages (entire fleet per A5 page in MS Excel) ready too. I am also waiting for the (unofficial) green light to host the file and share it with everyone.

Arrrg!! Need it now!!! Must blow up something!!! Waiting on Order of Battle for Victory at Sea. Waiting on A Call to Arms 2E!!! Waiting on A decent Codex for the Orks in 40K!!! Waiting on Gidot (or however you spell it)!! Waiting to Exhale!!!!

Crying, Waiting Hoping by Buddy Holly!!!!

Ok, bit off topic there. Sorry.

It's like I say at work. "People say patience is a virtue. Around here, patience is a victim."

The free things are for tracking points and game help, it does not replace the books it's just a complement.

What kind of trooper would demo a game without original books ???

By the way if you need some data/software/rules check for sheets or combat sim ... I'd be glad to help ;)

I always do...I got a pre-release copy of Sky Full of Stars - they were on sale at a midwest con (Gen Con I think) and I was able to arrange with a forum member who attended to buy me a copy and ship it out to california. cost a bit more, but it allowed me a while to get a jump on the record sheets. So when the book was in wide circulation I was able to lead with 2 fleets instead of one...
