Games Expo in Birmingham is one of the best gaming events on the UK calendar and, to make it even better this year, we are running a tournament for A Call to Arms: Star Fleet there!

You will need to pre-book here;

http://www.ukgamesexpo.co.uk/bookevents.php?category=min

However, we have plenty of prizes as usual, a free gift for everyone entering, and hope to make this a fixture for the UK Star Fleet scene - but we need your help to do that!

A tournament pack for this event will be going up a little later this week, but expect smaller games in the morning, with larger battles in the afternoon - and Romulan Ale in the bar after the dust settles!

The tournament pack for Games Expo can now be grabbed at;

Silly Question, do you need pay for the £8 for the expo entrance and the £8 for the tourney?

Even though you wont be able to actually see much of the expo? :shock:

Not that i can attend but thought i would ask.

The tourney ticket price is in addition to expo entry

Well it seems a shame as you wont get alot of time for the Expo, but the points of 1250 will make the fleet listings more interesting this time around.

Seems that I was the only taker for the Tourney at Games Expo. Got an e-mail saying it has been pulled from the organisers :(.

Was looking forward to Fleet Clanger getting another outing.

Well Like i said maybe an sally into the welsh border is in order then and we can get a conflict going (English and other associated territories v.s Welsh) I would put my name down for the welsh team, maybe Mark and a few others may enlist too. Well wait and see. Finding it hard to get back over the severn atm due to on going call of duties.

Maybe if we get organised our end, Matthew could blow a roll call his end and we could get something going.

That could be interesting - could turn into a yearly thing :)

If you want to organise a Welsh team, I am sure we can find enough takers here in England. Happy to host it at Mongoose HQ, or we could get people to travel into foreign territory...

Well let me see if i can stir up some interest and see how many of the welsh players i could get in on the act. Then you could work out the numbers, I already have a few games set up in mind with games ranging from 1000 to 2000pts with a form of build up to the end.

The initial bout i was thinking at Firestorm in Cardiff (with Robs permission of course) and we will try to get a return game going before xmas in Swindon.

Long term we could get a bit of a grudge match going

Well i will email you when i hear back about numbers

I'm wondering if we have enough Scots around to make this a 3 way thing...

Maybe a Celts V.s Anglo conflict then, though i am a englishman living in wales, what side to pick :?: the winning side of course lmao.

I have some fiendish battles in my head, so will be good to let people loose on them in a competitive way.

Mark said he is up for it, but busy in June so what dates can people do?

At first I read the thread title's SF as in "San Francisco" wondered why I hadn't heard of such a convention. The suddenly got very sad when I realized it was just Sci-Fi. No fun tournament for me. :(

Can't wait for some US events. Love to get me one of those CC mins. Anyways, here is hoping you gents have lots of fun as well as provide some nice battle reports and lots of pictures. :D

If there is no tournament at UKGE, will there be Demo or Participation games perhaps?

I would love there to be, and we have a table but, right now I am on my own and have to be on the stand. However....

If someone wants to play/run games, I will happily provide the miniatures...

I might be available on the Sunday. I may be available on the Friday (but would have to leave at 2.30pm to go to the doctors). I'm getting pressured to go to a conference in London on the Saturday so may well not be able to go to the tournament.

I'll be able to confirm tomorrow. If you can get me in on a exhibitor pass or whatever I can run demos most of the day Friday (though I believe activity is limited to the Strathallan on Friday, and the trade hall is not open to the public and hence demo tables there will not be in use).

I will not know this until tomorrow though.
