Zhodani Warbot

I was trying to work up some MGT stats based on the CT description. Here's what I have so far:

Zhodani Warbot
Str 15 (+3), Dex 15 (+3), End 15 (+3)
Int 3 (-1), Edu 1 (-2), Soc 0 (-3)
Skills Flyer (grav vehicle) 1, Gun Combat (energy rifle) 1, Tactics (military) 1
Gear cloth armor (5), laser rifle (-2 DM, 5d6+3 damage, 200 shots)

Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions? I don't have a good enough feel for the vehicle rules to convert the armor and End numbers over to Hull . . .

I'm looking to end up with something tough enough to scare the heck out of my players, but not indestructible, either.
 
Core pg 94 covers robots (briefly) -

  • The Edu and Int look way too low - a Cargo Robot has a 5 (and the same Int) - Tactics-1 probably deserves better.

    Drop the End and give a decent Hull/Structure (Combat Drone has 4s)

    Cloth armor-5 doesn't sound that impressive - Combat Drone has a 9.

    Having TL may help...
Missiles are scary. :D

The stat block is an admittedly odd combination of info from the CT Zhodani aliens module and the information from the CT Robots book. I think the DM mod is from the aliens module.

Good points. Those values were pulled straight from CT Robots, where the Cargo Robot had Int 2 and Edu 1 (as opposed to MGT, where it's 3 and 5).

Let's try this on for size, then:

Zhodani Warbot
Str 15 (+3), Dex 15 (+3), Hull 5, Structure 5
Int 4 (-1), Edu 5 (-1), Soc 0 (-3)
Traits Armor 10, Integral System (comm, audio/visual), Integral System (grav floater), Integral Weapon (laser rifle), Specialized Computer/1 (running Intellect/1 and Tactics [military]/2)
Weapon laser rifle (5d6+3 damage, 200 shots)
 
Looking good! But scary? One lowsy laser rifle...

It's got Str 15 - think that deserves at least a PGMP!

Thinking 2 PGMPs actually :o (twin em - like a double barreled shotgun)

Now that might put the players on their toes!
 
My take on the Zhodani Warbot:

Light Warbot, TL13. Intended to be an autonomous infantry support platform.

Frame: roughly human-sized with integral weapon mounts
Propulsion: lift module
Power: 168-hour power cell
Top Speed: 50 kph
Load: 1/3 mass ton (including weapon)
Armor: 22

Computer is an advanced Model/2 photonic system with a basic AI process.

Weapon is an oversized plasma gun, TL13, 180kg.
Range: 1,000 metres
Damage: 5D ( + burn damage )

The computer is an advanced Model/2 photonic system with a basic AI process.

Weapons loadout is highly customizable... perhaps an oversized plasma gun (damage 7D + burn, mass 640kg)
