thanks guys is anyone else considering a small remorgage and secreat off shore accounts so wife dosent know :D

Me I plan to sell off much of my D20 stuff to finance many of these purchases. I'll hold onto the three core D&D books if I get nostalgic, other wise the lot of 'em are going to go.

Mine's away at the moment, so I bought a lot at Tentacles. She's back in a couple of weeks, so I am thinking of buying some stuff before then and living off bread and water until she gets back.

Trouble is, there's a shelf in my study with new RQ stuff and it's getting fuller and fuller and she's bound to notice......

So, another question, how do people manage to slip RPG purchases past their other halves? And don't ask who's the boss - 95% of the time, the wife is :-(

Well I'm planning to get the Hawkmoon and Elric stuff and I've been hyperventelating about the Slaine book since I got wind of it.
I would like to get the Newhon book to go with the Lankhmar book already on the shelf. I will be running Rune of Chaos for our RPG club this Sunday and so I just downloaded Halfbat's Collected Character pdf. and tonights all about character generation so some of us are getting together to go through it in preparation. So many plans so little time and money :( . On the backburner of things I need are the two Cults books and Legendary Heroes.

The burning question is how can I hope to get all that lot past the wife. Well I've tried hinting heavily and dropping mentions of how excited or keen I am about Hawkmoon, Slaine and Elric into everyday conversation about who's doing the washing up or how she's planned my weekend out in the garden for me. Trouble is the time of Birthdays or Christmas has slipped away but Fathers day remains a bright hope on the horizon :)

The ebay gambit is always a possibility ie; I couldn't possibly let the opportunity slip as it was a bargain at that price or look at the money and effort I saved by shopping at home and not trecking accross the county to my FLGS

I'm lucky to have a quite large collection of RPG's and most of them live in one particular room in our house and its quite untidy ( this is deliberate as its quite possible to hide a few new books in random piles that move around and are never noticed in the clutter 8) ) Brownie points can then be earned for tidying up and rewarding onesself by buying just one more book isnt so bad. The down side of this is untidyness means its most likely you won't find what you're looking for in a hurry.

I tend to stash a bit of emergency RPG cash away for rainy days and up and coming conventions. This can then be raided rather than using bank cards or the dreaded credit card as Mrs Crypt Keeper does the accounts any unaccounted for purchases need to be talked over  My trouble is I always use the same hiding place for my stash and I know she knows its there but she likes to humour me :D

I do a quite a stressfull job and have been known to treat myself after a particularly busy period. However Mrs CK also works in the same job and so she knows if I've been busy or not :) Well what ever I've written here a lot of its tongue in cheek. My wife isnt a gamer but she really tries to understand my obscession and supports my hobby as I try to understand and support hers :)We don't have kids and are both lucky enough to be at work. Neither of us smoke or drink much so I guess its easier to slip something book shaped into the shopping basket so to speak.

Now if only Mongoose sold RPG's at Tesco's

Being a Glorantha fan boy:
Trolls - 11th June
Clanking City - 18th June
Jrustela - 25th June
Dragonnewts - July

Looks like a book a week for me.

I'm thinking about the EC stuff but that's when I start looking for a second mortgage (haven't picked up Lankhmar yet for that reason).

It's going to hurt the wallet but "no pain, no gain!"

I know how you feel, what with Hawkmoon and the Granbretan book, followed by Elric of Melnibone. I think there might be one or two others as well.
